N. Korea: Kim Jong-il's Third Son Also Suffering from Hypertension and Diabetes
All three sons suffering from various illness, a red light on Kim family health
(Seoul, Yonhap News) Choi Sun-young & Chang Yong-hoon: Among Kim Jong-il's three sons, the youngest one, Jung-woon(age:24,) was rarely mentioned with regard to health issues, but according to a report, he is also having serious case of high blood pressure and diabetes, though he is still in his 20's.
Both the eldest son Jong-nam(age:37) and the second son Jung-chol(age:27) have various health problems. Jong-nam's heart condition is suspected to be genetic, which he inherited from the late Kim Il-sung, his grandfather, and Kim Jong-il, his father.
Jung-woon's hypertension and diabetes have gotten worse this year, to the point that it hampers his normal activities, according to reports.
Sources on N. Korea said, "Unlike Jung-chol, Jung-woon has strong political ambition. After her mother Ko Yong-hee's death in 2004, he was under relentless pressure from Kim Ok, Kim Jong-il's fourth consort. To relieve his stress, he have been drinking heavily every day, and his health rapidly deteriorated."
Jong-nam, who have been frequently exposed to foreign media while going back and forth from Europe including France, is known to go there to treat his heart condition.
The second son Jung-chol suffers from a rare disease called 'excessive female hormone secretion.' Furthermore, he was once injured while playing basketball. While treating his injury, he got addicted to a drug as a painkiller. Now he is said to have serious drug addiction.
A source on N. Korea said, "Jung-chol was once administered with a strong narcotic analgesic Promedol for treating his pain. Since then, he was attracted to the drug. Further, he habitually used addictive drug such as METH, and now shows the sign of serious addiction."
Medical condition of three sons is affecting Kim's succession issue directly or indirectly.
Kim Jong-il, who National Intelligence Service reported underwent brain-related surgery after collapsing in mid-August at Intelligence Committee of National Assembly, suffers from heart condition he inherited from Kim Il-sung. Last year, German medical staffs were called to work on his heart artery(or vein.) He also have serious diabetes which can cause dangerous complications.
Kim Il-sung died after having heart condition for a long time. Medical report released by KCNA after his death said, "He have been treated for arteriosclerosis. Mounting stress caused myocardial infarction leading to cardiac arrest on Jul. 7, 1994."

Ping!
It’s got to be the sodium.
Ok.... but who gives a $h!t????
Those who are counting the days till the N. Koreans are free.
yitbos
Thank you for pinging me.
But, but, I thought socialist countries had first-rate health care systems!!
I bet they have toe fungus and dandruff too.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer family.
Are those the same folks that are counting the days until Cubans are free? People tend to get the goobermints they deserve; or they grab the bull by the b@lls and shoot the b@stards currently in power.
Sorry, but Kim will be replaced by another “Great Leader” when he goes to his reward. Zerobama should be looking for a new gig about then.
Nice sig line.
And this is just a list of the physically-il, the list of mentally-il conditions is much longer..
I don’t know if China would let North Korea go that easily either, but North Korea is becoming a bigger and bigger financial burden for China and my thinking is China my want to relieve themselves of that burden. Dumping North Korea on South Korea pushes the financial burden on South Korea and America.AWB
If so, it is merely condign punishment for all of the misery Kim and his family have visited on North Korea.
