McCain Responds to Obama's Reported Undermining of the Commander-In-Chief During Wartime [Andy McCarthy]
The McCain Campaign has issued a statement responding to the report from Amer Taheri (see today's web briefing) that Sen. Obama secretly negotiated with the Iraqi government regarding U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. McCain spokesman Randy Scheunemann stated as follows:
At this point, it is not yet clear what official American negotiations Senator Obama tried to undermine with Iraqi leaders, but the possibility of such actions is unprecedented. It should be concerning to all that he reportedly urged that the democratically-elected Iraqi government listen to him rather than the US administration in power. If news reports are accurate, this is an egregious act of political interference by a presidential candidate seeking political advantage overseas. Senator Obama needs to reveal what he said to Iraq's Foreign Minister during their closed door meeting. The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama's judgment and it demands an explanation.
Don’t want you to miss this.
Obama isn't the President but he plays one on TV.
Oh he did it. The sh!t of it is he’s immune to prosecution for this treachery since he’s the chosen one of the democrap party.

Interesting link from a few months back...seems like Barry has been playing double-speak with Zebari for quite a while:

But today comes this report that Zebari told the Washington Post “that he had some frank talk for the candidate: ‘The foreign minister said ‘my message’ to Mr. Obama ‘was very clear...Really, we are making progress. I hope any actions you will take will not endanger this progress.’”
So what other reason can you give for Obama’s Make-Me-Famous World Tour? He was up to no good and meddling where he should not have been.
I hope that McCain’s Rapid Response Team can learn to respond faster than they did here.
Seriously, the story came out early this morning. I saw it at 8:00 am. Rush was on it at noon.
And McCain finally responds at dinner time?
Yep!!!!!!!!
Great. But...is it unprecedented? What about Rockefeller? What about Kerry?
They will make hurricane Ike look like a wimp.
I think the whole economic crisis thing knocked it off the headlines. It sucks that it came on this day.. but it did.
If the economic thing hadn’t happened.. this would have been front page news everywhere.
Meantime.. O’Reilly is doing a puff piece on Obama’s life.
All because Obama did an interview with him.
I was thinking the same thing. I noticed how long it took the McCain camp to release their statement. My guess is they did a little background research on this accusation before making their official statement.
Great....I just hope this gets played out in the media!!!
From the article at your link:
“I emphasized to him how encouraged I was by the reductions in violence in Iraq, but also insisted that it is important for us to begin the process of withdrawing U.S. troops, making clear that we have no interest in permanent bases in Iraq,” the senator said. “I gave him an assurance that should we be elected, an Obama administration will make sure that we continue with the progress that’s been made in Iraq, that we won’t act precipitously, but that we will move to end U.S. combat forces in Iraq in a manner that’s as careful as we were careless getting in.”
So he is saying to the Iraqi government “We are not interested in permanent bases.” By his own admission, he is bargaining with governments in a war!?!?! Did he truly think his path was paved straight to the White House?
Not sure where that immunity comes from, but in any event, when this happened in July he wasn't the "chosen one" of the Democrat party. He was simply the leading campaigner.
I can fairly easily see Obama discussing troop withdrawal (as both Obama and the Iraqis have confirmed) and mentioning something like, "And you know, the current administration is quite weak -- and its decisions are regarded with suspicion in America. The best negotiations would occur with the next president. Those would be truly enforceable by that president."
Why isn't the MSM investigating this one??
Oooops, never mind,,,,I forgot they're totally tied up in their 'feeding frenzy' trying to find mud to destroy Gov. Palin.
Never mind.
