Sure. It’s a great example of a set of primitive, proto-human practices and beliefs from about a thousand years ago that belong in the shameful dustbin of human historical failures.

Just as much room for Sharia as there is for Jim Crow and Judge Lynch law.

Sharia law denies individual liberty and freedom of religious expression and thus is perfectly suited for a governing a totalitarian theocracy.

Does Sharia law allow slavery?

It should be a very easy question for Islamic scholars to answer.

If it does then it has no place in the modern world.

Sherman Jackson, "Can Shari'ah be Reformed?"

I think under Sharia, you can be killed for even asking that.

Should be an interesting conference.

No. Because a two-tier system of justice is not only discrimanatory but fundamentally unjust.

Excuse me I just fell out of my chair...We do have a tiered justice system, just not like you might think. In rochester proper, a domestic is nothing where as in the burbs it is a cause for prime concern lawyers and judgements and all that. If there is no money to be made lawyers don't press.

Seattle will be the first city to adopt a sharia court. Last week they announced a return to bus side ads. Today, they added that the an Islamic group will be the first to run ads on the sides of the buses. The ads will say something like, Get to know Islam, call -— -——.

Just imagine if a group of Christians ran an ad saying, get to know Jesus, call, -— -——.

Normally, no. But, as a friend of mine who lives on a Caribbean island said about the petty thieves, “Sometimes you need a little Islamic justice.”

No. Well, OK, maybe adopt a few of their punishments...

There no room for sharia law in even an un-modern state. What a ridiculous question for these weasels to be asking each other. Most people think of sharia law as corporal punishments but it permanently reduces free people to an oppressed status. Accepting Suadi money at Georgetown is itself a shame.

Hmm...you mention “rochester”; I take that to mean the city named Rochester in New York state. Am I correct?

And then there is “domestic”; as in a “servant” or “maid”? Or do you mean “domestic violence”?

If you could please clarify what you mean, I would have a better understanding of what you’re trying to say.

As for “lawyers don’t press” - I’m at a total loss!!
