Obama says McCain is running dishonest campaign
Associated Press ^ | 09/15/08 | Terence Hunt

Posted on 09/15/2008 3:11:36 AM PDT by jerry557

CHICAGO - In a presidential race turning increasingly negative, Democratic nominee Barack Obama drew on editorial comments from U.S. newspapers and magazines Monday to accuse John McCain of running a dishonest campaign with some of the "sleaziest ads" ever seen.

Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, said McCain was "launching a low blow a day" and went on to say he stands "with George Bush firmly in the corner of the wealthy and well-connected."

Obama, flying to Colorado to begin a swing through contested Western states, leveled his charges in a new television commercial that aggressively pushes back against charges by McCain, the GOP presidential nominee. Obama has been under increasing pressure from Democrats to strike back harder at McCain, who has taken a slight lead in national polls. Some leading Republicans faulted both presidential campaigns Sunday for the increasingly negative tone of their advertising.

Former Bush political adviser Karl Rove said McCain and Obama had both shaded the truth in campaign advertising.

"McCain has gone, in some of his ads, similarly gone one step too far in sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100-percent truth test," Rove told "Fox News Sunday."

The Obama campaign has complained especially about an ad that declares Obama supports sex education for kindergartners. He supported legislation that would teach age-appropriate sex education to kindergartners, including information on rejecting advances by sexual predators.

"Both campaigns are making a mistake, and that is they are taking whatever their attacks are and going one step too far," Rove said. "They don't need to attack each other in this way."

"Age-appropriate sex education" isn't sex education? Sheesh, we've got another Clinton here - remember, he argued that oral sex isn't sex.

If there is dishonesty in McCain's ads, then McCain must be using quotes from Hussein Obama.

The AP has lost all credibility and are giving talking points as objective news.

This jerk is really starting to get me po'ed. He says "Enough already" and the very next advertising day launches his bull$heet "E-mail" advertisement. It is a lie from front to back. The single shred of truth is that McCain does not do his own email, but someone does it for him.

Obama is desperate and this is right out of the community organizers handbook. Someone said earlier that Obama is the worst candidate in the last 20 years, likely to not kick Carter out of fist place as the worst. Well, I disagree. Obama is the worst candidate of the last 150 years if not the worst ever. Carter was a better candidate than this, just a miserable failure as President. Obama will easily take over that title if he wins.

And sending surrogates out to the media to suggest McCain is about to drop dead of cancer is a nice way to run a campaign?

There is a God and I don’t think he is happy with O

Black Racist Oblack issues the Establishment press talking point. Telling the truth about a Rat is an attack. Lying about a Repub is hard hitting.

This will also help deflect the McCain can’t run a computer ad that Rush will obviously play today. Talk about sleazey stupidity, that one should disqualify him completely.

Pray for W, McCuda and Our Troops

“Rove should have STFU in this case”

WTF is going on with Rebublicans? They continue their self hating self destructive actions. The last few times I’ve seen Scarborough’s show he has been auditioning to run the Obama campaign. Pounding the table and yelling about what Obama should do to beat McCain. Even describing in detail commercials he would be running. This morning was the worst as he was orgasmic about BO’s new hard line commercial slamming McCain. Now Rove is also giving BO ammo and advice. Note that you could NEVER get a RAT to give advice to the Repubs about how to beat BO. The RAT spokesman NEVER miss an opportunity to slam Repubs, they just keep on dutifully spewing talking points.

Dishonest and sleaze....hmmmmm
brings to mind Obama.
He has yet to come clean with America about his own life, from his birth, to his growing years, to his associations in college, to the way he has been “elected”, to the way he has served. His entire life has been a distortion of fact.
Thats just the dishonest part...the sleaze oozes from each part as he weaves his fairytale.
James Frey’s book was written much the same as Obama’s.
He took facts from his life, exaggerated the claims, made composite characters out of a few people.
I won’t hold my breath waiting for Oprah to damn Obama as she did Frey in public.
Dishonest and sleazy indeed.

That sentence alone should tell you all you need to know.

Karl Rove is the Dems’ new best friend and talking point of the day (thanks, Karl)...this morning while discussing Barry's email ad and McCain's war injuries, the Dem pundit pointed out that even Karl Rove thought they were both going too far now.

Later in the show, they had on former POW Lt. Col Orson Swindle who discussed McCain's injuries and said--I don't want my Commander-in-Chief preoccupied with email. It's just another petty, desperate attempt by the Obama people.

I thought posting from the AP was not allowed anymore.

Unfortunately, because their stories and biased assertions are so much fun to poke holes into.

Whining about what your opponent is saying is never a good campaign strategy.

“Bill Ayers needs to be brought up by McCain.”

You got that right. If the Obama drones (including the media) are going to review Palin’s past with a microscope then McCain should bring the Ayers situation front and center. And often.

Barry, knock off the personal attacks. Let’s all hear about your significant achievements while you were a community activist (agitator) or while you were in the state and federal senates. This period of your life is conspicuously empty.

“Now with 0bama whining it just shows desperation. “Make him play fair, Mommy” isn’t a line that works for politicians.”

But, but, but....it always worked in Chicago. Affirmative Action conditions one to complain that America and its people are unfair and must remain open to criticism when things do not go as expected.
