The true extent to which Palin-mania has come to dominate the TV news cycle hit home for me last night as I flipped through the channels on the Palin campaign’s charter flight from Reno to Denver. Within a period of about a half hour, I caught the much-anticipated debut of Tina Fey as Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night,” as well as seperate Palin documentaries on MSNBC and CNN.
Tina Fey was such a dead ringer for Palin that I was tempted to open the curtains that separate the governor and her staff from the media to make sure she was still on the plane and hadn’t managed to sneak off to Manhattan to appear live on the show.
One of the more biting pieces of satire came at the beginning of the sketch when Amy Poehler’s rendition of Hillary Clinton standing beside Palin said, "I believe that diplomacy should be the cornerstone of any foreign policy.”
"And I can see Russia from my house,” Fey as Palin replied.
According to her spokesperson Tracey Schmitt, the real Sarah Palin had a good laugh along with the press corps in the back of the plane and millions of Americans at home.
“She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween,” Schmitt said.

Tina Fey, when you use humor make sure the humor has some semblence to a gaffe. Sure it was humor but alot of the times the humor back fires. You can see Russia from Alaska.
Moreover, when one laughs, sometimes they get the last laugh.

About the trouble getting onto FR - I KNOW - second time I had the same “withdrawal pains” on a Sunday evening for a few hours. If you find out more (or Jim Rob - give us a bulletin!!) let me know. I just assumed it was server problems or maintenance.

It refers to the older women in the country club bar, dressed in cougar and leopard print tops, that prey on young guys.

It was really funny and well done. However, they pretty much use humor to make the DNC’s point of Sarah’s lack of experience. As mentioned before, they attacked her for the rest of the show. I don’t think we should help promote SNL. They are obviously in the bank with Barack now that Hillary has been defeated.
obambi was a no show and IT SHOWED. He got left with two black eyes after that SNL show.Not really. His deferring due to a hurricane was along the same lines as the RNC deferring.
We have plenty of real, valid criticisms of Øbama to diminish our arguments with trumped-up stuff.

I do wonder what is going on. John Robinson usually posts something at the Yahoo group when updates are taking place and folks are having serious withdrawals. I just hope things are straightened out soon with the election so near. I’ll be hitting my forehead on the keyboard if there is no access November 4th. I love this place!

I’ve not found the site easy to navigate, plus some spammer hooked onto my e-mail through the site. I’d suggest not joining but just reading the posts. When FR is down it helps a bit to know what is going on. User beware.

Granted, I don’t know how “They” came up with this term (Cougars), but it means older women who really like younger men - think it first came about with the Demi Moore/Ashton Kutcher pairing years ago. And it’s been around ever since.
