For the most part the media missed this. I actually think this joke is the most damaging in the campaign so far.

Many overlooked this joke by Barack Obama, but I think it was more damaging than the “pig” comment. He was sarcastic, arrogant, condescending, pretentious, all with a mocking half smile, you just don’t make fun of hunters and the sport of hunting in America:
He told supporters in Flint, Michigan that Palin has an interesting biography — “Mother, governor, moose shooter. That’s cool” —
Many have been saying that Obama and his campaign are arrogant, elitist, and full of pretensions. I believe it after watching many of the pseudo John Stewart/Eddie Murphy routines that Obama has been engaged in on the campaign trail. In the world of Obama and his campaign, hunting is something to mock, they just don’t understand the heartland of America, and that is why they are going to lose.

Obama doesn’t come across as a masculine guy. The bit about ‘moose shooter’ is only one of a hundred examples. Some of it is just a vibe he gives off, which I believe women—a significant number of them, anyway—pick up on. I think it will be interesting, come election day, to find out how many women can go into the privacy of the voting booth and pull the lever for a man they sense is fundamentally unmanly.

You’d think the dims would realize that libs from the north or northeast US don’t play well nationally. Obama’s a replay of Kerry, only Bambi’s more effeminate. He’s gonna get slaughtered in flyover.
Ironically, McCain might be the only one without a license.
Please add his “57 states” comment to your list of double entendres. Also, his “my Muslim religion” supposed gaffe. I’m betting that his supporters understood very well what he was talking about.
And forget the comedy, Barack. You are not naturally funny and you do not speak "street." You speak like a professor. And you do not know how to set up a joke.
Obama is not say “old” fish, he said “stinky” fish. There’s a difference. It makes your point even more clear.

Maybe someone can recut a video that just contains the joke. Actually he calls McCain’s biography compelling, then says Palin’s bio is compelling, he is almost mocking McCain’s bio.
His joke about Moose Shooter might have been scripted but notice when he says Palin’s is compelling, the crowd laughs, he laughs, then thinks, then says the line, maybe he was improvising, whenever he does this bad things happen
Instead of saying “Hunter” he uses “shooter” because it implies that Sarah is a “murderer”.
The word Hunter implies skill and nobility along with a traditional heritage. While “shooter” implies just the act of killing for the sake of killing.
Few people pick up on how disrespectful Obama intended this label to be. He plays with words frequently, but alienates even many in his own party in the process. In that light, carry on Barry, you’re doing a fine job. We need all the voters we can get!

Unlike Michelle (cover girl with cute kids) who is being plastered all over everything with two covers.
It plays right into the part of her speech of saying one thing to the hunters and saying something else when getting in front of a different audience.
That could very well come back to bite him in the butt. While Flint is a union town, the surrounding area consists of lots of rural areas and I would say that at least half of all the men in his audience are NRA members and avid hunters........
Back in 2000 I went to a Bush rally hosted by the NRA at a hockey arena up in Flint and by the time I had arrived, the twin rink arena had already filled up the designated arena and had to put the overflow crowd into the adjacent arena. Wayne LaPierre was the speaker and when he finished at rink 1 he came over to our rink 2 and gave his speech over again......
Lots and lots of hunters around Flint......and lots of unemployed auto workers who are probably fed up with our Gov. Granholm........
As an aside, last deer season saw over 920,000 deer killed. Thats a lot of deer and a lot of hunters.
I know I'm going out on a limb here but I have a gut feeling that McCain is going to win Michigan........
