Tennessee almost always goes red in the presidential and US Senate elections but its like pulling hens teeth to get a Republican elected in the state and local elections. In our district, we have finally got a Republican on the ballet for the general and the local yokels are about to have a stroke over the general. They are scared to death.

Like Obama, they don’t want stinking elections. Dictators don’t need elections. And worse, the winning candidate was a woman!!! No racists in that campaign

The “Counting the votes” quote goes back to Boss Tweed from Tammany Hall at least, but I am sure that it hails from much further in Antiquity than that.

“No Republican will be on the November ballot, . . .”
That is the real crime. The GOP is folding all around us.

If the Dems can nominate who they choose at this late date, then why can’t the GOP?
To: SmithL
Barrett said more than 700 voters in the Democratic primary had previously voted only in Republican contests since 2000 - including 39 who had voted in all seven GOP primaries since then.So they had to have examined the voting history of each person casting a ballot in the democRAT primary to make their determination. "Sorry, voter, you registered as a democRAT for this election but we've decided that your vote doesn't count after all." Why bother having primaries at all? If you don't like the count, THROW IT OUT. The wrong woman wins in Tennessee? Overturn it. Hillary wins the popular vote? Sorry, you're not black enough.

All Democrats are crooked. They won’t even bother to abide by their *own* rules.

Will they also throw away all those "cross over" votes for Obama in November.
You know, all those "life long" Republicans For Obama you see all over the media?
To: SmithL
Kurita ought to be outraged. There is no party affiliation registration in Tennessee, anyone can vote in either primary.

What sort of ‘Democracy’ allows a political party to throw out the results of an election?

Well, if your gaydar didn’t go off yet, it might be due for a tune up.

Rosalind Kurita is a long-term liberal DEMOCRAT that got angry about the dictatorial tactics of the State Senate Majority Leader, who in Tennessee automatically becomes the Lieutenant Governor.
The Democrats had been in charge forever, but the vote was going to be close - and the Leader had offered a Kurita’s committee chairmanship to a RINO member in exchange for his vote. But Kurita found out, and voted for the Republican leader, Ron Ramsey, giving repubs control for the first time. The RINO voted with his party in the end, but his treachery was known and he lost his committee positions in the realignment.
Getting rid of Wilder was worth a lot, but we still have Democrat Jimmy Naifeh as State House Majority Leader, and he is even more of a crook.
