Obama camp suggests lies over Palin visit to Iraq

By GLEN JOHNSON – 4 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — The question of whether Sarah Palin has ever been to Iraq pushed Obama aides Saturday to accuse the McCain campaign of outright lies, distortions and distractions to the American people.

Since Republican presidential nominee John McCain tapped the Alaska governor to be his running mate on Aug. 29, questions about her experience have been fueled by her relatively brief tenure in office, as well as a dearth of foreign travel.

Palin made a well-documented trip to Kuwait and Germany last year to visit U.S. troops, and over time, the governor and her staff have revealed she also visited Canada and Mexico. Meanwhile, her aides clarified that a purported visit to Ireland was little more than a refueling stop during her trip to the Middle East.

I thought Obama was going to focus on issues:?

You misunderstood.

He said that he wants the MSM to focus on what issues from his lips.

So send her to Iraq now. I think the troops would welcome her in way unprecendented.

I just love it. These Obama clowns are obsessed with Sarah and cannot get to McCain or the real issues. PLEASE let them keep it up.

McCain nor Palin said that but Obama calls them liars because the rag Boston Globe claims some aide told them something. The Boston Globe IF it really were a reputable paper would have verified information before reporting. I guess that is McCain’s fault.

SHe visited the 19th province of Iraq, or what would be the 19th province of Iraq if the Democrats had had their way back in 1990-91.

The difference between Bush and McCain/Palin is that Bush never really fought back. So far McCain’s ads have been doing great and they have taken bozObama’s statements and bit him in the a** with them. I am sure they have several ads lined up for the crap that has been going on the last several days. I think bozObama is getting extremely desperate and also thinks maybe McCain isn’t going to come up with any more a** biting ads about him. He is mistaken, they are not fighting Bush, they are fighting someone who knows how to fight back and will continue to do so.

I recall many folks thinking the same of Ronald Reagan when he left office. They felt that the ginned up democrat scandals would tarnish his legacy forever. It was felt that he would forever be seen as an amiable dunce.

I think that his legacy has shown through the media B.S. quite well. We'll see how GWB's stands up in a decade or so.

Interesting reading all the comments on Politico. The forum is so clogged up with Obaman worshippers no one can get a word in edgewise. I didn’t realize that Alaska was such and ignorant hick redneck place, having been their a few times. Maybe I need to spend more time in NY City getting a better impression of the place (Alaska, I mean).

I thought Obama was going to focus on issues:?

He hit the ground running today in taking on disco music. The stuff was kind of an abomination actually; not one of the prouder moments in our history; but we had Carter as President. We need to purge the stuff from all of our public libraries lest our kids hear it discover how embarrassing it all was. So, unless something comes up like it turns out he is a misogynist, or wants to surrender in Iraq, or turn Israel over to the Palis or something like that he has my vote. /s
