In Office, Palin Hired Friends and Hit Critics (NY Slimes hit piece)
NY Slimes ^

Posted on 09/13/2008 1:35:41 PM PDT by Chet 99

WASILLA, Alaska — Gov. Sarah Palin lives by the maxim that all politics is local, not to mention personal.

So when there was a vacancy at the top of the State Division of Agriculture, she appointed a high school classmate, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate agent, Ms. Havemeister cited her childhood love of cows as one of her qualifications for running the roughly $2 million agency.

Ms. Havemeister was one of at least five schoolmates Ms. Palin hired, often at salaries far exceeding their private sector wages.

When Ms. Palin had to cut the 2007 state budget, she avoided the legion of frustrated legislators and mayors. Instead, she huddled with her budget director and her husband, Todd, an oil field worker who is not a state employee, and vetoed millions of dollars of legislative projects.

These NY Slimes would rather she hire strangers that she doesn't know!! Common sense says you hire people who fit with the agenda you are trying to accomplish!

Just like the Slimes hire people with the same 'hate America' agenda that they have.

Is this like the culmination of everything their reporters have been doing up there? It’s the most detailed hit piece yet.

“Daddy’s Roommate”...lol

The same media that didn’t give a rat’s rear about the Clintons and Travelgate or any true cases of incompetent boobs being hired due to being Friends of Bill’s.

Earlier this week, the NYT finally mentions Obama and Annenberg. But the NYT has no problem that the person that helped him get the job is a domestic terrorist (Bill Ayers) or no problem that Barry blew through $160MM and the project was a complete failure. Instead they spin it that the failed project was a great learning experience for Barry.

However, the NYT has a huge problem with Palin hiring people she knows into open positions.

The NYT does no seem to realize that they are viewed as a joke. All these lame “hit” pieces do is to get people to rally around Palin. Hey NYT, keep it up! Please.

Ok. So She can’t hire people who are able and qualified and knows.

The way some attack her it might help to have friendly office staff. I mean as long as they aren’t pretty, smart, and capable.

They have nothing wasted time and money trying to dig up something on her a traffic ticket from 20 years ago. They have recycled the same stories to keep nigative news up. Baseless and petty.

She knew everybody in town. Of course, she hired a friend.

This is the best that those 30 dirtdiggers airlifted to Alaska could come up with? If I were the DNC, I'd demand my money back! /laugh

Well, if this is the sharpened knife to the back it is a dull spork.

Objectively, it sounds like small town politics with NYT bias thrown in that anyone would not want to read about “Steve’s two daddies” or whatever.

Shrug, boring.

Obama would never do this. He doesn’t have friends.

Wow, after reading that piece of bile, Sarah Palin probably eats little children and sucks the blood out of vampires bats for fun

What a shame a once great paper is reduced to this type of fecal matter

I read the article, all of it and what I saw was a Governor who was a Mayor and NOW has an approval rating in the 80’s. Does everyone love her? Well no, it looks as if there are at least 18-20% of the population that DO NOT like her and these are the people the Slimes set out to find.

No proof, merely he said, she said.

“a top position” does not equal a major post. “A $2 million dollar” department is not very big. And $95K in Alaska is not the same as $95K in the lower 48.

That’s the firecracker lead info? Ho hum.

Hmmm. I don't remember the Old Grey Lady being upset when Her Heinous fired everyone in the White House Travel Office and put her own friends and cronies in the place. Nor do I remember them fussing that x42 filled his Cabinet and upper level positions with his friends from Law School.

I guess it's OK for Democrats, but not Republicans.

Palin vows to rescue dairy

There could be a possible conflict of interest here. See what you think.

Wow, a chief of agriculture who could actually tell the difference between a cow and a lot of bull. Sounds mucho qualified to me. Can Sarah bring Franci to Washington with her? What next, Larry the Cable Guy for chief of FCC?

Drive By media, read and weep. All your base are belong to Sarah.
