Just when it seems the Democrats can't sink any lower, they manage to surprise you.. What the Obama ad fails to mention is that the reason McCain can't a computer is probably because his arms were broken when he was shot down over North Vietnam in 1967. His injuries were exacerbated when the communists refused him medical care and then tortured him repeatedly during the five and a half years McCain spent as POW in Hanoi. According to an article in the Boston Globe in the year 2000... McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard You have to wonder, though, why the Obama campaign didn't do the very basic research to find out why McCain can't use a computer.

Please. McCain is healthy enough to keep a grueling Presidential campaign schedule (I don’t think I could keep up with him), but he can’t push a few buttons on a keyboard? I don’t believe it. If I thought he was that incapacitated, I wouldn’t want him to be President.
Will his hands and arms (which everyone here says keeps him from pushing a few buttons) keep him from reading books? What about turning pages of the Presidential Daily briefing?
Just think about it for a bit. Look at the videos of him on the campaing trail. Obviously, he has pain and range of motion issues to deal with, but the guy has great vitality. He can can absolutly use a computer. I’ve seen many people type using just two fingers. I think arguing that he can’t is laughable.

This is very possible. I was in a near fatal auto accident over 30 years ago. I did pretty well the first 20 years...but oh, my the last ten have been something else!

2000 gop debates, mccain stated that he used the internet, browsed a number of news sites of communist propaganda. My memory says he used the word ‘click’ to describe what he did, but that was 8 years ago.
A keyboard may be another matter entirely, but to say he cannot use a computer is to call mccain a liar on the topic.

agree on the ad, it is toxic for obama. my comment was about how this article addresses this.
my point was that the ad is wrong too, and it is important to understand what McCain himself is on film having said, since this article doesn’t seem to know about this tape and it could be dragged out to discredit statements like this.

Right, I agree. Both the add and the article equate keyboard skills with computer use and literacy. McCain may struggle with pain while using the keyboard but that does not mean he is computer illiterate.
It seems he has figured out some work-arounds. In the case of emails he dictates to Cindy who does the typing.
