A Deltona father ended up in jail Thursday after finding his daughter's teenage boyfriend naked in the girl's bedroom and hitting him with a pipe, sheriff's officials said.
Raul Colon, 45, didn't even know his daughter had a boyfriend -- or that the youngster had been sneaking into the home for more than a year. So when he heard noises coming from his daughter's room early Thursday and saw a naked stranger standing on the girl's bed, he swung a metal pipe he had taken from the garage, hitting the 15-year-old, according to a Volusia County sheriff's report.
Colon was charged with aggravated battery on a child but was released from jail later Thursday on $10,000 bail, a booking officer said. No one answered the phone at Colon's residence Thursday for comment.
According to the report, Colon heard the noise in his daughter's room when he got up at 4 a.m. to let his dog out, as he does every morning.
Colon told deputies he chased Lucas Contreres through the kitchen, living room and through the front door and out into the street and called 9-1-1.
Colon's daughter later told deputies she had been seeing Contreres for 18 months but did not tell her father about the relationship. Contreres had sneaked in through a bedroom window at 3 a.m. Thursday to have sex with her, the 15-year-old girl told deputies.
Contreres was found at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City where he received staples to close cuts on his head. His injuries were not life-threatening, deputies said.
Contreres told deputies a similar account to Colon's. He said Colon came into the room and started swinging at him with the metal pipe. He jumped out of the bed and began running through the home to get away from Colon. Once outside, he jumped on his bike and went home. His sister later took him to the hospital, deputies said.
Although Contreres' father said he wasn't sure whether he wanted to press charges, deputies took Colon to jail anyway.
Nope. In Saudi they kill the girl, not the guy.
In the dark a 15 year old "boy" can appear to be, and can indeed be a dangerous threat.
I stand by my statement.
Bull. A 15 year old boy with the light on is a naked teenager and its obvious whats going on to anyone with a brain. My first anger would be directed at my daughter who let this guy into her room.
My thought exactly...
“hello 911”
“yeah...I just found some naked guy in my house and I shot him dead”
That’s amazing.. “obviously invited” Really 4am in the morning and not knowing she has a boyfriend?
I’m sure you would of just walked in and had a nice chat with the naked fellow.
If I had caught that boy he would dissapear from the face of the earth.
Its very common for states to charge an underage boy for sex with his underage girlfriend (who doesn’t herself face charges). A case challenging that double stnadard went all the way to the US Supreme Court, where they told the little player he was going to prison...
“Because virtually all of the significant harmful and identifiable consequences of teenage pregnancy fall on the female, a legislature acts well within its authority when it elects to punish only the participant who, by nature, suffers few of the consequences of his conduct.”
Michael M. v. Superior Court of Sonoma County 450 U.S. 464 (1981)
I just checked Florida’s criminal code. It was a felony for the boy to even be naked in front of a 15 year old girl. Its astonishing the cop arrested the victim’s father and not the felon. Not only will the charges be dropped, I wouldn’t be surprised if the cop gets fired over this.
800.04 Lewd or lascivious offenses committed upon or in the presence of persons less than 16 years of age.—
(7) LEWD OR LASCIVIOUS EXHIBITION.—
(a) A person who:
...
2. Intentionally exposes the genitals in a lewd or lascivious manner;
in the presence of a victim who is less than 16 years of age, commits lewd or lascivious exhibition.
...
(c) An offender less than 18 years of age who commits a lewd or lascivious exhibition commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
Another onion story? The father “Colon” whacked the naked boy with his “pipe” ? come on
“Frankly I hope the girls father gets off.”
Well, that would only be fair, since the kid obviously did. And then kept coming back for more.
Nahh, its a real story, here’s a TV station’s report.

I’m just thinking this through. The cops and the prosecutor really screwed this case up. Under the Florida criminal code (see my post above), the 15 year old boy committed at least one felony and the 15 year old girl was the victim. So by the police stupidly arresting and the State Attorney stupidly charging the victim’s father, look at what these idiots have done:
1. They’re released the identity of an juvenile sex victim— even if the article doesn’t mention her first name, presumably its the same last name as her father and certainly the same address. The whole town will know exactly who she is. And anyone in the future who googles her last name and her hometown will come up with this story.
2. They’ve released the identity of an juvenile offender. By the undisputed facts of the newspaper article, the kid committed a felony (in FL, being naked with a girl under 15 does the trick). They really shouldn’t have put his name in the paper. Even if charges are never filed, just like with the poor girl, this story is going to follow him around forever on the internet. There’s a reason police and prosecutors typically don’t identify juvenile offenders (notice the plaintiff name in the Supreme Court case upthread).
Because they went after the wrong guy, the authorities publicly humiliated two juveniles whose identities would have been been protected if the cops had done their job and arrested the felon and not the homeowner. What a bunch of idiots.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: ‘’Colons and pipes do not mix!!!’’
How assinine. So how does creating a ‘’FELON’’ out of a kid NOT then practically INSURE that the so-called ‘’victim’’ suffer the consequences of a resultant pregnancy which this law implies (and which isn’t even a factor in most cases)? I don’t know if you have any male kids (or will have), but I wish I could be there if one of them gets rung up on a third degree FELONY just to watch your righteous indignation melt away. Were you equipped with genitalia as a baby or did you just add it on after you turned 21? (Oh yes, I know...you ‘’always had self control’’ and always lead a righteous life...’maximum leader’ and all that...)
I did not notice that the article said the light was on. was on. Were you there?
My statement still stands.
OK. Subtract one “was on.”.
(How the heck did I manage that?)
If you found a naked stranger in your house at four am would you stop and check his age?
When I go into a room I turn on the light. There had to be a light on for the person to see anything. But I can see why you shoot first and try to think later.
“Its the punk screwing this guys daughter that should have been arrested.”
For what? I don’t see that he committed a crime.
FWIW I think the father shouldn’t be charged
One of those little rubber bands, properly applied, and the kid has, what, maybe 3 minutes to make it to the hospital.
So now we are at this scenario:
A father who is unaware that his daughter even has a boyfriend hears noise in his daughters room at 4 AM. He opens the door and turns on the light. A young man unknown to this father is standing naked on his daughter's bed. A reasonable reaction is to treat this stranger in this circumstance as a threat and deal with it accordingly. He attacks the male in defense of his home and daughter. I fail to see what he did wrong. Ask questions? Sure, after the threat is eliminated.
My original statement STILL stands.
