The Obama campaign is mocking John McCain for not using a computer. From the AP story about the computer illiterate ad:
"Our economy wouldn't survive without the Internet, and cyber-security continues to represent one our most serious national security threats," [Obama spokesman Dan] Pfeiffer said. "It's extraordinary that someone who wants to be our president and our commander in chief doesn't know how to send an e-mail."Well, I guess it depends on what you mean by "extraordinary." The reason he doesn't send email is that he can't use a keyboard because of the relentless beatings he received from the Viet Cong. From the Boston Globe (March 4, 2000):
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain's encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He's an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can't raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball. In a similar vein I guess it's an outrage that the blind governor of New York David Patterson doesn't know how to drive a car. After all, transportation issues are pretty important. How dare he serve as governor while being ignorant of what it's like to navigate New York's highways.
Stand up, Chuck!
No president since Clinton would ever want to use the internet or email.
White House counsel would advise a president to never use it.
Besides, the president of the United States does not have to send an email out to someone. That’s what White House secretaries are for, to manage the president’s correspondence. A president does not usually send a casual note to anyone, because their every activity is recorded to help run their administration and to save for history.
The fact that Obama’s campaign does not understand this is ridiculous.
I bet they do not know that the president has a private study and that is where he spends most of his time working. They probably imagine Obama sitting at Rosevelt’s desk with his sleeves rolled up, every morning.
Geesh! These people are so ignorant about how business is conducted in the White House.
These children need to be sent packing.
LOL! New keyboard needed in aisle 13!
LOMA!!!!!
LOL
Bingo
As well as erecting environmentally unfriendly styrofoam columns for the event
That’s a backhanded way of remindning the American people that McCain has disabilities. It’s almost as tasteless as calling Barack the N word. Heck it is just as bad.
This ad is like McCain running a commercial showing Barack eating watermelon and chicken. And then showing other black people doing a drive by shooting. Simply disgraceful and Obama owes McCain a public apology each week until the election is over.
This makes the macaca story look like Ghandi message.
It's an idiotic ad. We're not electing an IT computer geek; we're electing a president.
Is he deliberately trying to throw this election so that he can step down and Hillary can take over as the Democrat nominee?
The incompetence of the Obama team is simply breathtaking.
Everyone needs to demand an apology. This is Obamas Macaca moment http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2006/08/16/allen/
Lets hang this around his neck like they did George Allens. Making fun of a disabled veteran is simply over the top and not presidential. In fact, he should be censured by the Senate.
No. As I stated on the other thread, you look lie a pansy if you DEMAND an apology. McCain can simply run an ad explaining why he can't use a computer.
OBAMAD’S theme of Change and Hope should be called something else.
I think he needs a backhoe. lol
Saw a T-Shirt the other day, McCain’s picture, under it, the word “old”.
I now have a response the next time I see that.
Hey, could you tell me where I could get a shirt with 0bama on it with the word “black” under it?
The Joe Biden comedy tour:
“John McCain is so old that I was only starting my 11th year in the senate when he arrived in Washington.”
“... and Al Gore invented the internet 25 years ago, but John can’t even send email ... Oh, God love ya. What am I talking about?”
