The Obama campaign is mocking John McCain for not using a computer. From the AP story about the computer illiterate ad:
"Our economy wouldn't survive without the Internet, and cyber-security continues to represent one our most serious national security threats," [Obama spokesman Dan] Pfeiffer said. "It's extraordinary that someone who wants to be our president and our commander in chief doesn't know how to send an e-mail."Well, I guess it depends on what you mean by "extraordinary." The reason he doesn't send email is that he can't use a keyboard because of the relentless beatings he received from the Viet Cong. From the Boston Globe (March 4, 2000):
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain's encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He's an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can't raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball. In a similar vein I guess it's an outrage that the blind governor of New York David Patterson doesn't know how to drive a car. After all, transportation issues are pretty important. How dare he serve as governor while being ignorant of what it's like to navigate New York's highways.
Dems gave up on feminism & workplace harassment when Clinton was President.
Dems gave up on lookism, ageism, etc. when they openly made fun of Linda Tripp’s looks, during monica-gate.
Dems now push people with special needs or handicaps along with the entire ADA regulatory agenda ‘under the bus’ with McCain’s run.
They’re total hypocrites & IDIOTS/LOSERS. 2 year olds, who’ll do ANYTHING for power, and that $3 trillion fed budget.
Doesn’t the public see this?
Wooh! I think that the problem of solving the problems for America is that we need lots of papers and even a special PFA Commission. Hopefully Russell, the guy running against Murtha, will solve one of those.
Yeah it is pretty close to dinnertime for me also.
I have only one last question, and you can PM about me if you like later(hell you can PM me, Email me, IM me in general. I need more people that I can talk to instantly about politics) but how does one bold or italicize quotes. I was very worried that my rambling would look very messy especially because I only put in quotes to differentiate. I know that a few people on here have used that to quote. I just feel very nervous when I have a lot to say but it all looks the same as I have a habit of rambling, a 55 page paper that was supposed to be 9-10 is one of my high-lights.
I just saw a few methods of quoting on this thread and I wondered how to implement as there is no easy way on this reply box to do so. But overall thanks again for the discussion and the civil debate at the beginning.
Now that's funny, I don't care who you are!!
OK. To quote someone with Italics: < i > (no spaces)
To end the Italics: </ i >
To start a new paragraph: < p >
To bold a word or sentence: < b >
To “unbold”: </ b >
You want to make sure you have paragraphs (once you start HTML in a post, it will automatically default to that, so you have to continue to make the computer understand you want paragraphs by doing the < p >)but your paragraphs can be as long as you want them.
If you use the spell check, you will see, when you preview, that it uses HTML. It won’t matter once you post, if it’s not an HTML post.
There are lots of other codes, too, but start slow, and when you’re comfortable with the little stuff, you can start using more complicated posts. And don’t be shy. We’ve all had a first time!
Rush is wrong on a couple of points:
Obama is only 6.5% black.
Obama didn’t register for the draft in 1979 becasuse there was no draft at that time. It wasn’t reinstated until 1980.
But Rush is good, and people listen. We just have to make sure that more and more people hear Obama’s lies.
;o]
Obama and his comrades wish to build a classless society. They have a good start since collectively they have no class whatsoever.
Poor Obama - everytime he opens his mouth he sticks both feet in it.
You would almost think the people running his campaign are totally ignorant of America and Americans.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
I think Mark Steyn summed it up quite well:
“Whenever Senator Obama attempts anything non-political (such as bowling), he comes over like a visiting dignitary to a foreign country getting shanghaied into some impenetrable local folk ritual.”
I was trying to say that whether or not he uses a keyboard is non-issue. I don't think the McCain campaign should involve themselves in refuting it. Do you really want to get into a tit for tat where the liberals bring out a disabled person that can use the computer? I didn't mean anything by this.
The way to refute the Obama campaign is to inform them in an ad that as Commander-in-chief McCain will have at his disposal any “top secret cleared” military secretary (yeoman in the Navy) that he wants to take care of the emails. If Obama was really experienced in government he would know that ALL MILITARY OFFICERS ARE SUPPORTED BY SECURITY CLEARED PERSONNEL.
obumpa
“...why does an e-mail have to take HOURS?
Does McCain, drive? Does he feed himself? If so, he can use e-mail. Dont insult people with disabilities.”
Who knows how he manages various tasks of everyday living, why not email Senator McCain and ask him ?
I’ll place the probability that conversation to place @ 85%

into it making it look rather squishy. It got me some criticisms early on, including my infamous intro thread. So thanks, now I can edit my posts and threads(only 6) better. Sheesh, maybe I need to go to posting school. Thanks again. And see you on another thread at some point in time.
That would be very important to spread widely if true. Was there any link or citation where you saw this?
Most of the liberals I’ve run into are insisting that he wasn’t talking about Sarah, and that he used the line “just like McCain” (who was referring to a piece of legislation proposed by Hillary, not Hillary herself. Legislation the likes of which is sometimes known affectionately as pork barrel spending projects).
I don’t believe that any thinking adult honestly believes Obama when he says he was referring to a policy instead of Sarah. The very next joke he told was believed by many to have been aimed at McCain - likening him to a stinky fish. In all honesty, I happen to think he was still attacking Sarah at that point - due to her Barracuda/Sarah-cuda nickname. It would make perfect sense, and is right up Obama’s alley when it comes to his pattern of thinking as further evidenced by his recent campaign ad, “1982”.
Regardless, the average American is starting to see what Obama is really made of, and they are not liking it.
