Official campaign ad is consistent with ageist hate speech hosted at My.Barackobama.com
This official advertisement, "Paid for by Obama for America" and approved by Barack Obama, continues his campaign's proud tradition of mocking and ridiculing senior citizens, and indeed people over 50.
The ad opens with a mirror ball from a disco under the caption 1982, and then shows a clumsy portable phone and a Rubik's cube. Then it derides McCain for not knowing how to use a computer or send E-mail. It says, "Things have changed since then, but McCain hasn't."
This ad was approved by Barack Obama, and it is entirely consistent with the ageist hate speech that pervades My.BarackObama.com, over which his campaign exercises editorial control. This includes rumors, perhaps posted by Obama campaign staffers under assumed names, that McCain has an age-related neurodegenerative disease along with jokes about Alzheimer's Disease and "senior moments." Another calls Hillary Clinton an offensive term for a female dog while deriding her "rabid over-50 crowd."

It’s laughable seeing them trying to copy the McCain ad style. EPIC FAIL!
Even before this I expected voters over 62 to turn out heavily at the polls. The annointed one is blissfully digging his own grave!
A disco ball? In 1982? I was 13 YO old in 1982 and disco balls were loooooong gone by then.
The senior community is THE #1 MOST RELIABLE DEMOGRAPHIC TO SHOW UP AT THE POLLS ON VOTING DAY. Good to see OBABBLE TOTALLY PI$$ING THEM OFF!!!!!!!!!!

Context:
So what did you do your first job out of school?: I flew jet planes off of and then landed on a SHIP.
What did you do?: Um...I was a community organizor (weak smile). I can email though!
So much for the “back to the issues” campaign that was going to be ran. So far, it’s been nothing more than vicious attacks. This will backfire on him so as everything else he has done in the past month has.
I'm around the same age. Yup. Mirror balls are 70s disco. Died out with the emergence of punk/new wave. By 82 the hideous 80s styles were already blooming--parachute pants, members only jackets, designer jeans, pink Izod shirts with the collar turned up, etc. Man, I hated the 80s. Pity too, cuz that was Reagan's era, but I was too young to appreciate that. The music and style was hideous. I'm permanently stuck in the 70s.
Can’t vote for Palin because of her sex, and can’t vote for McCain because of his age. If I had to guess, I’d say Democrats are saying these things.
Now wait just a gosh darned minute here. This is serious. McCain doesn’t use email? How dare he deny the demwits potential access to his computer and most private thoughts. This is not fair. I demand that dingy Harry Reid and that Pelosi woman pass a law outlawing the post office and telephone. It will make it unlawful to communicate any other way than email. Furthermore, it will apply to all speech—even between two people. Certainly, now you can see how serious this is.
And yet, Barry is the one who has fallen and can’t get up.

This guy really does have the reverse Midas touch. Everything he’s touching lately is turning to poop.
The media should ask him what he thinks of this line of attack, since 1) he's recently pledged his full support for Obama and 2) he still writes his E-mail on paper, long hand and gives them to subordinates to send.
I agree. It also goes to the experience issue. Where was Hussein in 1982?
They just don’t get it. It’s funny how Obama used that phrase to label McCain, when it’s his own campaign who are such idiots.
I have 4 older siblings still alive, and only one uses a computer. It happens that my brother and I are the two youngest in the family.
McCain is ridiculing McCain because he’s over 70 years of age. Being in the national spotlight, it would be stupid for John to be using e-mails which could be intercepted or subpoenaed by some political hacks.
Senior citizens get it, the Obamamaniacs do not.
