Another e-mail:
Hi Kathryn,
Just caught the Palin interview on the West Coast. Some observations:
1) Gibson was acting like he was giving her a pop quiz.
2) The exchange about the "holy war". I've read transcripts somewhere that contain this:
a) GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God. Are we fighting a holy war?
b) PALIN: You know, I dont know if that was my exact quote.
c) GIBSON: Exact words
- The version that I saw on the West Coast does NOT have (b) and (c) above. Also, they showed a YouTube clip with the longer, more complete version of her statement. Did all the complaining about how he quoted her out of context make them edit the version shown on the West Coast, to make it more fair? Did anybody see (b) and (c) above on the East Coast?
These dim bulbs don’t even know what a “holy war” is: a war to extend one’s religion. Saying that the soldiers were doing the work of God, that is, protecting a system based on human freedom, is not in any way urging a “holy war,” which isn’t a Christian concept anyway.
Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God, she exhorted the congregants. Thats what we have to make sure that were praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is Gods plan.
I read 3 different blog sites last night about the interview. Two of them conservative sites and one a PUMA site. Nearly EVERY poster made comments about the camera angles, Charlie's smug attitude and the crappy editting of the interview.
What, exactly was The Crusades? ;)
Thanks. I saw the interview at 6:30 on the East coast and had read the transcripts of it prior to that. My reason for posting this is because I didn’t know that the West coast broadcast had been edited.
This is what the West Coast saw:

Keep hammering away on this!
Both sides certainly were dripping in blood by the end, but in terms of religious doctrine Christianity preaches peace and "turning the other cheek" while Islam from its very beginning was and is a religion bathed in the red stuff.
ABC had to edit Gov. Palin's remarks to her (former) church in order to alter their context and meaning. She was in fact asking for prayers that we make certain we are on God's side, and not asking that He join ours. In the original context, that seems like a pretty humble prayer which one would expect any Christian could agree with. If one is not a believer the whole prayer thing probably seems like so much humbug, but there was nothing presumptuous or militant in what she ACTUALLY said.
Ace has a link to the ABC contact so you can voice your pleasure or DISPLEASURE. I asked did Gibson lie or make a mistake. Either way a correction and an apology was owed to Governor Palin and the ABC’s viewers.
Even worse though, based on what I just watch is, they took the 'God's plan' question on COMPLETELY! Am I understanding this correctly?!
We’ve got to hammer all of these a-holes that keep slamming her, distort the truth and out and out lie about her and what she says.
Anytime it happens, whoever does any of the above needs to be blasted about it, starting with Charlie the Weasel Gibson. The guy is a bigger horses ass than I thought. He had a golden opportunity to be fair, to rise up from the pile of garbage that is the MSM and instead he worried about himself and how he might be criticized for being fair.

Try using the KISS principle.
The fact is The Crusades WAS a holy war.
Beginning in 1096, when Rome began preaching a Holy Crusade to free the Holy City of Jerusalem from the heretics and infidels.
