A remind McCain can be McDumb. Playing up to his precious moderates and independents. Enough to make conservatives bang their heads against the wall. The Left doesn't play nice! Why does McCain?

Yes because on a forum discussing national service McCain should’ve ripped into a screed against Obama...

Oh calm down. Lets win this election and then we can hold his feet to the fire. I think we will have more luck doing that than getting anywhere near Obama’s feet to begin with.

I am OK with McCain’s comments.
There is NOTHING wrong with being a community organizer.
There is NOTHING wrong about Obama being a community organizer.
The ISSUE is...... being a community organizer does NOT make you QUALIFIED to be president.
Not a big issue. Lets move on....

This doesn’t mean that McCain...
1. doesn’t know Barack Obama’s radical, ACORN/Alinskyite/Ayers involvements...
2. won’t tell America what he needs to about Barack Obama in the next eight weeks.
(And of coure, it doesn’t mean he will.)
Meanwhile, it is the responsibility of everyone who knows the truth to tell our fellow Americans.

Folks, there’s a time for everything. Tonite was not the night to attack. I have no problem with what McCain said. Let him play the ‘good cop’ - and let the ‘attack’ line come from somewhere else on this day.

I don’t care if McCain goes after the moderate vote. In fact, he probably needs to if he wants to win. HOWEVER, praising Obama’s service as “community organizer” isn’t going to do it. How is praising the opponent going to persuade someone to vote for him?

One more thing why I think what McCain did was OK....
It keeps the community organizer issue in the news, which just makes Obama look less experienced.

McCain did a pretty good job with a pretty shabby line of question. Moving on.

He's not a Reagan conservative. He wants to reach out to the moderates, independents and disaffected liberals. McCain is who he is. He's not one of us.

Barack Obama for Secretary of the Department of Rainbows and Unicorns, which is where liberal and maverick fantasies go for implementation. Of course, that would put Dennis Kucinich’s career plans on hold for a while.

Exactly...he did not defend his experience..he just said yes it is ok with community organizers.....unlike Obama
who decided to insult every mayor in the Nation!

McCain rises above it all, has gravitas, acts presidential.
While Obama is calling his running mate a pig, he's saying that he has examined his opponent's record and thinks it seems nice.
McCain is fatherly, Obama is a whiny kid.

I agree, let’s get across the finish line first.

Of course I respect people whove served their communities, and Senator Obamas record there is outstanding. Um, Michelle, there's no need to be a dragon ALL the time. McCain and Obama spent the day at Ground Zero. There was absolutely no reason for McCain to criticize Obama tonight over anything. McCain showed class, which is what most of us have come to expect from him.
I REALLY hope Michelle's not becoming the Right's equivalent of those Leftists who pick up on every comment of the opposition as if it's somehow sinister.
Michelle, McCain was being a nice guy. And it sounds like you need a vacation.

I didn't think so. I thought he put it in context and clarified it better. Often the VP is the one that plays dirty while the presidential candidate plays nice. If he played as nasty as the left he would not win the moderates. He is more a tactician anyway--look at the polls and how he has brought in the independents and moderates. He knows what he is doing. He did give us Sarah by the way and girlfriend will take these yahoos on and they no it--now and in the decades to come.
Do I understand your frustration? Yes! They will get their own come November 4 and that is the true prize that we need to keep our eye on. On that day they will eat crow!

Just watching the replay with Obama. Didn't watch earlier. Just saw Zero's backhanded compliment about small-town mayors (wink wink). He says he has respect for them because they are where the rubber meets the road. After all, he says, the have to make sure the potholes are filled, the trees are trimmed and the garbage is picked up.
No condescion there.
