Just watching the replay with Obama. Didn't watch earlier. Just saw Zero's backhanded compliment about small-town mayors (wink wink). He says he has respect for them because they are where the rubber meets the road. After all, he says, the have to make sure the potholes are filled, the trees are trimmed and the garbage is picked up.
No condescion there.

McCain didn’t let his pride and ego talk for him like Obama did.
McCain was gracious, while Obama wasn’t.
Contrast the two reactions when each was asked if the other had a place in their administration.
That says it all.

That is a big Chicago line. People who despised Richard Daley (the first) put up with him, his machine, and corruption because ‘the garbage got picked up.” That is how they judge their mayor in Chicago ... that and snow removal.
