Obama, Biden are match made in heaven
The Daily Toreador ^ | 9/10/08 | Mackenzie Maxwell

To most, the term "political heaven" is either an oxymoron, or even sacrilegious.

Keeping that in mind, I do not use this term lightly when I say Barack Obama and Joe Biden are a match made in political heaven. Politically speaking, they complete each other. Who knew politics could be so romantic?

Obama is the John Mayer of politics: He has a large fan base consisting mostly of younger people. However, all generations can enjoy him. He has a fresh attitude that - while not making people rock out - appeals to the audience's emotions. Biden, on the other hand, is more like the Rolling Stones. He may have been around a long time, but it doesn't stop him from rocking. His old-school appeal will grab the attention of more "traditional" voters, but it doesn't mean Obama's crowd can't rock out with Biden. Together, they can appeal to most any kind of person of any background or of any generation.

Biden is a foreign policy guru. In the late 1990s he helped bring peace to the Balkans by writing a piece of legislation that endorsed the air war in Kosovo. Also in the late 1990s, he was a major player in the effort to bring the Chzech Republic, Hungary and Poland into NATO. He currently serves as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and has met with virtually every foreign leader. Unlike a certain other vice presidential pick, Biden knows what he's talking about when he talks foreign policy. Who could be better for Obama than someone with such credibility? Nobody. Obama has faced criticism revolving around his experience since he entered the race; having Biden on the ticket will give voters some reassurance.

Who wants to bet that is this creepy match-up will soon end in divorce--- and Biden will be gone by October 1st?

I thought the dems were agains war? Or is it that in the mind of a liberal, war is justified if it brings peace. Wait a second, I thought Obama was going to talk to our enemies instead of going to war. Why in the heck did he pick Biden? This is an outrage!!!!!!!!!!

Serious, indeed.

Sadly, this is the student newspaper of my Alma Mater (Texas Tech) and these views represent about 2.4% of the students who attend that school.

It's almost as conservative as A&M (but our football team wins).

Yup, for Republicans, it was definitely a Godsend. Those guys have been tanking in the polls ever since they joined forces.

1. A guru? A guru for going to in order to do the opposite of what he thinks.

2. "Czech". Thank you.

3. Bringing more nations into NATO that we won't defend under the treaty because it would make us warmongers?

Good lord. The author is an adolescent.

Creepy is right. Cue the wocka-wocka music. Does our author have a little crush on Obama and Biden? Ugh.

Biden is a foreign policy guru. In the late 1990s he helped bring peace to the Balkans by writing a piece of legislation that endorsed the air war in Kosovo.

Guru?! This almost needs a barf alert. Oh, yeah, a great and lasting peace. Just ask the Christians of the area how well that's working... Is this just a sample of the mastery we can expect from VP Biden?

So then, was he right or wrong to authorize invading Iraq? With all his years of experience that should be an easy answer for him, we’ll all be waiting with baited breath for the answer.
