“My wife is a much bigger Palin supporter than I am. What “little head” is she using?”

I’m glad someone said that. I spent the last half an hour trying to figure out how I’m going to tell my mom,sister-in-law and grandmother to stop using thier “little heads”.

Also, notice how he was allowing Obama to talk about his mother, childhood, etc... give himself an introduction to America. Whereas Palin was practically interregated.

Don't tell anyone, but I can't define the "Bush Doctine" either. What is it?

Short answer: containment of terrorism to keep it away from American shores, not ruling out pre-emptive strikes and spreading democracy in the Middle East.

It has evolved a lot over the past seven years.

I agree. The difference is astounding. Flashing pictures of Barack as a child, pictures with Mommy, etc...

Ridiculous. And it makes me wonder, IS it because she is a woman, or a Republican?

I am glad your understanding of “The Bush Doctrine” came from Charles Gibson.

Actually, “The Bush Doctrine” has many facets to it and it was oversimplified by Gibson. It is a doctrine that closely follows those of many previous administrations.

Perhaps, the most distinguishing features of the Bush Administration’s policies are those centering around terrorists and the unnamed sponsors of terrorist organizations. Shifting the policies of the Cold War to fighting an enemy that wears no uniform and infiltrates many countries both, friend and foe.

Maybe they hired Keith Olbermann part time in the editing department since he was demoted from his other job.

If I ever told my wife not to worry her “pretty little head” about something, I’d probably be dead before I even hit the ground.

So the question becomes: Who was fiddling with the sound link between ABC national and the local cable providers?

Maybe the same guy from CNN who put the "X" over Cheney's face.

"Maybe they hired Keith Olbermann part time in the editing department since he was demoted from his other job."

Or they were editing on an old Mac with Final Cut Pro. That would explain it also.

My very liberal brother (I know, I’m working on him) just called and said that this interview made him and his wife very uncomfortable. Like squirm in your seat uncomfortable. My Sister in law said “When has a Vice President been badgered so harshly? Ever?” And I can’t think of one.

And as for the small children... she also pointed out that JFK had toddlers in the White House. No one questioned whether he could be a good dad and President. I’m telling you, the way they are treating Sarah Palin is backfiring on them badly.

" Gibson came off as condescending to males too ;-) "

" . I love us conservatives :-). "

At least most of the time, male and female conservatives think alike.... that's a good thing.

It would take less that three weeks of a oil crisis to have us pumping at a maximum rate from a limited supply... out of our strategic defense reserve. What would happen to oil if iran nuked the Saudi fields? If you think this outside of the realm of possibility... you do not know the iranian hard line extremists.

Russia can put the squeeze on Europe... any of a dozen such scenarios are not only possible but likely in our near future. Chavez would move quickly if he thought we were desperate. China is licking her lips with anticipation. They would take Taiwan quickly.

Without energy in abundance, we are nothing.

You are exactly right. Oil, or lack of it, could cripple this country in a matter of days. The other nations out there understand this, but the liberals are too dimwitted to get it. And even when it blows up in their face, they will blame Republicans for not kissing butt enough.

IS it because she is a woman, or a Republican?

It's because she's a pro-life, pro-military, attractive CONSERVATIVE woman.

Olympia Snowe is a female Republican, but never in a million years would she be treated the way Palin has been.

Please don't patronize me by claiming my understanding came from Gibson.

Would you agree that the doctrine of preemptive (or preventive) war is a departure from the doctrines of previous administrations? As you said, some of the other aspects of the Bush Doctrine are very similar to the policies of other administrations. Thus, the defining point of what has come to be known as the "Bush Doctrine" is the doctrine of preventive war. The Reagan Doctrine was a departure from the previous administrations' policy of detente, to one of active opposition. That was its defining feature, despite what similarities it had with the doctrines of previous administrations.

I have been reading here. That's precisely why I posted what I did. :)

As far as insulting the men here. Ha "Some" men around here are more than happy to make repeated sexist remarks, and they don't get called down for it. It's one of the reasons why I post so infrequently.

Again, I don’t disagree with you. And I don’t believe the Iranians are adverse to doing such a thing. But I don’t believe it is currently the highest threat. It is absolutely something we should be working on, but I am more concerned about more terrorist attacks, especially ones with NBC aspects. You really think Iranian nukes over Saudi Arabian oil fields is an imminent threat?
