First on TVNewser: Insiders tell us the first Charlie Gibson/Sarah Palin interview is complete. The first sit-down lasted 30 minutes and included questions about energy independence, foreign affairs and whether Gov. Palin is ready to be Vice President. "Absolutely," is her response. When asked if she is ready to step in and be president of the United States. Palin answers, "You bet."
We're told Gibson asked for two extra minutes and used it to ask Palin whether she agrees with the "Bush Doctrine." Among Palin's responses:
"The top priority is to defend the United States of America. I know that John McCain would do that."
"With new leadership comes opportunity to do things better."
"War has got to be a last option."
"If a strike is imminent we have every right to defend our country...and that's what a McCain/Palin administration would do."
"In order to stop Islamic extremists we must do whatever it takes. We must not blink, Charlie."
The banner at the top of ABC News just says “starting Thursday” - but I would tune in at 6:30PM ET just in case.
Lift off! U.S.S. Sarah Palin to Number One Observatory Circle!
Did Gibson ask Obama is he was experienced enough to be President?
Did he accuse Obama of “hubris”.
It sure seems as though Gov. Palin can deal with the overtly biased questions the media will throw at her.
I’m looking forward to tonight, it will be a pleasure to watch a politician who can and does give straight answers.
If she had answered any other way, that would have been contrary to NATO philosophy.
Sounds to me that she understands a teensy bit about foreign policy matters after all.
What a surprise.
I think she just forced the pendulum of this Country the other direction!
GO SARAH!!
We all have her back, I’ve been on a two week mission defending all those bs stories on other boards!!

Make no mistake...the US is doing God’s work.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
“You bet” is an incredibly common colloquialism in the Northwest: it’s almost as if ‘yes’ just isn’t in their vocabulary.
She is so Reaganesque that it is almost uncanny.
The attempts to make her sound like a religious kook are absurd, especially if you look at all the forums in which Obama and Hilary have gone over the top pretending to be holy rollers. They claim to seek God’s guidance every day.
As to war with Russia, she properly said the NATO treaty requires we come to a member’s defense and help if they are attacked. She did not say and it does not require that you instantly declare all out war on Russia if an ally is attacked.
I agree, especially in the light of polls showing Americans by a majority think Iraq was a success, and so was the surge.
(Obama even admitted that)
Republicans always take the lead with national security issues.
***I’m looking for deeper, more nuanced answers. She should have said something like:
“Uh, uh, are, uh, uh, uh, um. That’s — that’s a bunch — so — so let me tick these off. Deh...****
Or the Ted Kennedy brain freeze during his interview in the 1980’s.;-D
What time is it supposed to be on tonight?
“Does ABC have a cable new station or will this only be on broadcast stations tonight?”
They don’t have a cable news program.
It will be on the network ABC news.
Where I live it comes on at 6:30 PM.
Let's face it; no one in the MSM wants McCain/Palin to win and any interviews they want to have with her are designed to do only one thing, find a way to make the GOP lose in November.
I’ll bet that right about now, snObama is thanking to high heaven that HE doesn’t have to debate her!
