ABC News anchor Charles Gibson's forthcoming interview with Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palinher first since being hoisted onto the ticket by John McCainwill give a national audience an unvarnished look at the candidate. Because Palin is telegenic and the interview will be shot against scenic Alaskan backdrops, the only thing to prevent the interview from turning into sweet Republican syrup will be tough questions from Gibson.
Gibson and his team got knocked by Washington Post columnist Tom Shales as "shoddy," "despicable," and "prosecutorial" after they hosted the April 16 debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
1) What Bush administration policy do you disagree with most, and what would you have done differently?
Then how much smaller would the McCain budget be and where precisely should he cut?
2) How are you like Hillary Clinton?
3) You're running as a reformer, a crusader against the special interests and politics as usual. Setting aside for a moment Sen. Ted Stevens' legal problems, should Alaska return to the Senate this Republican who has delivered more pork to his state than virtually any other elected official? Yes or no?
But in the past you had no problem with asking Alaskans to vote out a standing Republican. You challenged the incumbent Republican governor, Frank Murkowski, on a pork-slaying, reformist platform and beat him in the primary. Isn't Stevens as antithetical to your views on good government as Murkowski?
4) Unique among all U.S. governors, you lead a state that shares a border with Russia, a sometimes hostile nation with a nuclear arsenal and new geopolitical ambitions. Given that, how do you evaluate Vladimir Putin?

What you heard was that Michelle Obama informed the View ladies of her list of topics not to be mentioned.
McCain stated that NO topics were off limits in this ABC interview.
[Once again, like George Bush, the MSM is not expecting much from this little lady. They expect to see your basis Bimbo. ]
This is pretty much the last chance they have to drive a stake through Palin’s heart. By October 2 and the Biden debate it will be too late, the campaign will be all but over. All Palin has to do tonight and even in the debate is refrain from swallowing her tongue and she will come out looking great.
AMEN, AMEN,and AMEN!!!
Fox News reported last night that no topics were off the table.
That is not saying very much, is it?
Given the insane viciousness of the Left since Palin's appearance on the national scene, maybe such a list had to be drawn up to exclude "dumbass questions about who Trig's real mommy is", "what drugs Track is on" and "how Todd cheated in the Snow Machine race".
I missed that and I do watch FOX NEWS on a regular basis. Thank you.
I don't want her talking about herself either. This is about conservatism(for want of a better term), not personalities. Thats the other side's specialty.
Conservatism sells.
>>Might as well throw in Gov Palin, when did you stop beating your husband?
Response: “Why do you hate America so much that you are willing to destroy my reputation for your liberal friends?”
I hope she answers any if them, “Those are Shafer’s questions. Now, what are yours?”.
Here I go again, but I can't help myself. Does Shafer get paid for what he does? He apparently thinks she's some white-knuckled church lady, someone who can't control her emotions when discussing someone she may dislike (the way a liberal would be). Has he ever watched Mrs. Palin? She knows how to talk about Hillary Clinton. She's done it before and earned her virtual endorsement. He thinks Mrs. Palin got to be governor without learning how to handle an interview?
This is such piker psychology, it makes me think Shafer was hard up for a column this morning and got his cat to write it. No offense to cats.
I’ll be watching too.
Why segments?....ratings, spin control?
#4 is run-up to a gotcha. After she says what she thinks of Putin Gibson will ask, “Have you ever met with or spoken with him?”
Expect Gibson will only ask questions that (he thinks) will demonstrate her shortcomings.
She is going to serve the American people and as long as that comes out and is clear, they will not be able to lay a hand on her.
What is your source as this is not true from what I know. They said that there were no restrictions.
Sarah at the end of the interview should invite Charlie to go moose hunting with her.
Haahahahah!
When you turn the lights out at night, what do you think about?
