PALIN'S BOOK-BANNING EFFORTS, REDUX.... Here's what we know about Sarah Palin's interest in banning books. Time reported last week that Palin asked the Wasilla librarian, Mary Ellen Baker, about the process for banning library books. Baker was reportedly "aghast" at the question. Soon after taking office, Palin, according to a New York Times report, fired Baker, and news reports from the time indicate that Palin thought Baker hadn't done enough to give her "full support" to the mayor.
Palin reversed course on Baker's dismissal after a local outcry, and later said the discussions about banning books were "rhetorical."
Yesterday, ABC News' Brian Ross moved the ball forward a bit, with an interesting report.
Ross emphasized an angle I previously hadn't heard much about. Palin was elected mayor thanks in large part to the strong backing of her church, the Wasilla Assembly of God, which, right around the time Palin took office, "began to focus on certain books available in local stores and in the town library, including one called 'Go Ask Alice,' and another one written by a local pastor, Howard Bess, called 'Pastor, I am Gay.'"
Palin became mayor, her church was interested in censorship, and soon after, Palin asked a "rhetorical" question about how books might be excluded from the public library. When the librarian resisted, she was, at least initially, fired.
The line from the McCain campaign has been that Palin never had any interest whatsoever in banning library books. That seems increasingly difficult to believe.

You mean she suggested that libraries pick and chose which books to include in their collections? Oh the humanity!!!!
Fake, but Fake.
Typical CBS
I thought it was ABC that was the ‘Mickey Mouse’ company
“That seems increasingly difficult to believe”
I’m sorry has there been anything new on this lie since it was first reported.
Another lie. But they want it to be true, so they print it. It is fun to see the Left disintegrating.
Is there any doubt who CBS wants in the White House?
"Go Ask Alice" was a website aimed at kids with discussions about sex put on by Columbia University (?). They may have also put out a book. The topics addressed included discussions about bestiality and even discussions about 'safe' rimming. Absolutely sick.
On a serious note, a hardcore Democrat in my wife's sorority told her that she is voting for McCain Palin because of the disgusting way the Democrats and the media are acting toward Palin. I know it's only anecdotal, but if the number of "Democrat for McCain" signs I saw at our local Rally with McCain/Palin is any indication, we need to encourage the media to keep shooting!
The HOLY MESSIAH Obama is in Danger, and has called for ALL of his disciples to attack “The GREAT Whore of the Bible”(As I saw on one lib website this morning!)
No lie, No smear will be left unturned by Obama’s allies in the media.
It’s a “two-fer”! CBS includes Sarah’s religion with her book banning.
Sane people would think it’s kind of dumb to keep playing old tunes that are already debunked. But, maybe not.
What these dopes on the left don’t realize is that very shortly Palin is going to explain away every one of these “charges” in her nationally televised interviews.
She is going to look rational, and the questioners irrational.
They are going to have venom in their voice, and she is going to have that twinkle in her eyes.
And the people are going to love her, not them.
It will get worse. I want to suggest that McCain put out an ad detailing the horrid attacks on Palin and her family and challenging Obama.
“Barack Obama’s supporters have been upset about the selection of Sarah Palin but instead of just attacking her policies...”
“They have attacked her family”
“Her Daughter” (Pictures)
“Her Son who is leaving for Iraq”
“And even her defenseless baby, Trig, who has down syndrome”
“Please tell Barack Obama to tell his supporters to stop these vicious attacks”
Someone is looking to replace Dan Rather.
their problem now is that if they do (unlikely) dig up anything negative on Palin - no one will pay attention.
Not even that. She only asked the Librarian what she would do IF she was asked and the Librarian was never fired.

As I recall the librarian herself recently stated that she remembered Palin asking her a rhetorical question about if books could be removed and she had nothing else to say. Also I heard that some of the books on the liberals’ list that she supposedly asked about weren’t even published at the time
I wrote CBS for what good it does and told them I will no longer watch my local CBS affiliate which was the news I always watched. Watch ABC from now on and CBS can keep right on tanking.
as opposed to getting knocked up at 17?
