Two segments on Tuesdays Election Center program, which were promoted by host Campbell Brown as having no bias, no bull, actually tried to paint Republican vice-presidential pick Sarah Palin as having a "very extreme" and "outside-the-mainstream" viewpoint on environmental issues, since on the issue of global warming, shes "not one... who would attribute it to being man-made." Brown herself suggested during the second segment that the debate over the cause of global warming was already over.
Correspondent Randi Kaye interviewed University of Alaska professor Rick Steiner during the first segment, a report on Palins environmental record. She asked, " In a word, if you can sum up Sarah Palin's record on the environment here, what would it be?" Steiner answered, "Abysmal." Anderson Coopers blog on CNN.com republished the professors September 7 editorial from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, in which he railed against Governor Palin: "In addition to her frightening lack of qualification to be vice president (much less president) of the United States, Palin is an evangelical, anti-choice, pro-gun, right-wing conservative who wants creationism taught in schools." When a shorter version of her report aired on Wednesdays The Situation Room, Kaye added that Steiner "says hes not a Republican or a Democrat." Despite this clarification, it is clear from his editorial that Steiner is a liberal.

She ain’t “outside the main stream” out here where the environment actually is.
Yes I was
To borrow a meme from the Obama camp...
Jesus was outside the mainstream, so was Columbus, Copernicus and Lincoln.
As a matter of fact, many of histoy’s significant events are due to people once thought of as outside the mainstream.
Sarah should wear it as a badge of honor...
CLUE you dip$%^&: 31,000---that THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND scientists signed a petition saying they didn't think global warming, if it even existed, was man made. Who'se outside the mainstream now?
Cooper and friend?
I saw the end of this. I did email her that I would not watch her show and she is wrong. Disgusting.
If anyone is outside the mainstream it’s CNN.
We interviewed Professor Goofy and asked what CNN”s record is on individual freedom. “Abysmal,” he answered.
“In addition to CNN”s frightening lack of qualification to be a news outlet (much less reporting the news) in the United States, CNN is a Marxist, anti-freedom, purse-swinging, pro-totalitarian, left-wing Stalinist beer hall thug organization that wants to look for rubbers on cucumbers in my pants,” Goofy said.
“They’re goofy.”
Why is it that the pundits assume the main stream is correct. Mainstream beliefs are just beleifs. Refer to tag line.
Actually its more fun now to watch olberman right now he is melting down
I wonder if Campbell Brown realizes that CNN is "Outside-the-Mainstream." He is not an expert in climate I am sure. If he were capable of scientific thought he would know that there are few absolutes. If he had a brain he would know there are many questions about whether global warming is manmade, versus natural climate variation. There is more evidence that global warming is caused by the Sun not mankind. There are no SUVs on Mars, Venus, or Jupiter.
How does Dan Senor stand this ignorant woman?
BUMP to that!
At one time the mainstream belief was that the world was flat.
So “anti-choice” is “out of the mainstream”.
Most of us think that partialy removing a
baby .......puncturing......forcepts....sucking...
...........sink................i can’t even describe it
WITH MY NEW 11 MONTH DAUGHTER IN THE ROOM
Would be “out of the mainstream”
Actually, no - that was never a mainstream belief anywhere in recorded history.
Hehe. I love the irony. It's fun to see liberal codewords break down.
Well, I was challenged by your answer to investigate.
And you are correct.
Apparently the scholarship has changed in the years since I learned about Columbus a few decades ago.
It appears that the flat earth story was more of a modern ivenon than historical fact.
The problem Columbus faced was not that the earth was flat and he would fall off, but that contemporary scholars thought that the earth was too large and he would have to travel much farther than expected to reach Asia due to their calculated size of the sphere of the earth.
Good thing the America were in between.
Thanks for the correction.
