South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler sharply attacked Sarah Palin today, saying John McCain had chosen a running mate " whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”
Palin is an opponent of abortion rights and gave birth to her fifth child, Trig, earlier this year after finding out during her pregnancy that the baby had Down syndrome.
Fowler told my colleague Alex Burns in an interview that the selection of an opponent of abortion rights would not boost McCain among many women.
“Among Democratic women and even among independent women, I don’t think it helped him,” she said.
Told of McCain's boost in the new ABC/Washington Post among white women following the Palin pick, Fowler said: "Just anecdotally, I believe that those white women are Republican women anyway."

Even though Obama didn’t make this gaffe, I think this is a better story for Republicans than “lipstick on a pig.”
Oh Shep seems to be an Obama man. But Greta has done some wonderful shows on Sarah. I was never a big fan of Greata but what she has been doing with her segments on Sarah seems to have brought out her real personality. She likes Sarah.

It's interesting how this white family - of no particular personal appeal or talent - has dominated the South Carolina Democrats for over twenty years. Especially when only one in five Democrat voters in SC is white.
These are vile, nasty people. Color me not surprised.
This is the Change that Obama wants to bring.... Democrats are not the champions of Womens rights nor the champion of minority rights.

Who is in charge? Obama? He touts his NINETEEN MONTHS of campaigning as relevant experience for the job of president?
Looks to me like he couldn’t pour pi*S out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel.
Oh he sure is—and he’s DESPERATE to let Obama’s people know they are NOT helping their—his—candidate with comments like Fowler’s. And it is so much fun to watch!
