From the UK: you don’t need me to tell you that what the rest of the world thinks is neither here nor there. The Guardian is a liberal lefty paper with ‘one world politics of hope’. ‘nuff said.

"what the rest of the world thinks"

Obviously in Barack Obama the leftists of the world see a kindred spirit. What is somewhat mystifying is the failure of these lefties (who think they know what makes America and Americans tick) to see what a failure many Americans see in the European government-is-all knowing states. Most conservatives, like myself, have no problem if Europeans want the cradle-to-grave welfare state that they seem to be so content with. What we mightily resent is these same leftists arrogantly butting into our internal affairs and demanding that we follow suit. Russell Brand's pro-Obama tirade at the MTV awards is another example. It definitely takes a lot of cheek.

P.S. I like my very liberal Brit in-laws. They're all very nice people (they send us cans (tins) of Vimto and other yummy Brit treats), but again they simply don't understand America or Americans. One of my in-laws gets all his "knowledge" about the U.S. from Michael Moore. I'll leave it at that.
