Amie Parnes reports from Lebanon, VA:
Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.
"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."
"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."
"We've had enough of the same old thing."
The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."
“Democratic Congressman Russ Carnahan on Tuesday introducing Joe Biden at a campaign event ripped into Palins record and punctuated it with this snarky jab. Theres no way you can dress up that record, even with a lot of lipstick, he said. Later in the day, Obama used a variation of the lipstick line, though he was clearly talking about the McCain-Palin reform rhetoric. “You can put lipstick on a pig,” he said. “It’s still a pig.”

He’s said that 3 times and each time I yell, “It’s over 80% nimrod.”
And I simply have to ask, how would this be any different if McCain or Pailin were to say something like, "You can put a suit on a coon, but its still a coon"? Wouldn't there we widespread outrage if anyone had the audacity to say something like that about Obama? Wouldn't that be considered racist? So is Obama just "given a free pass" to say whatever makes its way from his twisted mind to his potty mouth?
That's what I've been thinking about these past few days -- the intense polarization and the increasing attacks from both Obama and Biden mean that one of the best effects of the nomination of Governor Palin is that it ripped off the false mask Obama was wearing of the so-called uniter. Obama and Biden are both left-wing hacks, but until Palin came along Obama was still trying to pretend that HE could "reach across the aisle" etc. (even though he has never done so in a significant way).
Now the mask has been pulled aside and he's not speaking or acting like much of a "uniter" is he? Meanwhile John McCain can glide along merrily above the fray. The choice of Palin was brilliant.
To be accurate, he said he had been to 57 states with one to go (Alaska, ironically) so he actually thought there were 58 states.

Must be learning from his VP pick.
But why did the Senator “Cokehead” do it ? This was planned and contrived, what was the gain ? If Hillary has any character which I doubt , she would should issue a statement condeming this sexist racist. Why did he do it- this was not an accident ? Speculation ?
Oh, so it looks like they are going to blame it on the SPEECHWRITERS.

Let me partially correct. Democratic Congressman Russ Carnahan on Tuesday said this while introducing Joe Biden.
However, my point remains. Dems are crafting language around the lipstick comments of Sarah Palin.
OH, I think you can put a Christian mask on a muslim, but he still is a muslim.
IMHO, someone who is worried about being called a muslim shouldn’t call people pigs.
Do you guys have any documentation to support that?
Here you go: Lipstick on a pig..

In these comments, Obama also referred to McCain as an “old fish”.
Absolutely correct.
Ticking off liptick-wearin’-gun-totin’-kids-carrying-life-lovin’ strong women - Check.
I hope that this azzhole loses by excatly 18 million votes — the same number that Hillary pulled during the primary process.
OUCH!
That's right. He just visited New Pennsylvania, the 58th.
Let’s hope this is his “macaca moment” — after what the scumbags did to George Allen it will be only fitting that Obama’s campaign should implode after this.
....Obamassiah pulls this stunt, and yet Don Imus loses HIS job and almost his WHOLE career over three little words...
geezzz...
Good grief, I wish he’d say that while standing on my front porch. What an idiot. This will backfire. Expect McCain up 3-4 more percent in a couple of days.
The McCain-Palin camp are beginning to do to Obama what the Clintons did to Newt Gingrich, and that does not bode well for the Democrats.
