Just received from reader Jeff: The latest, desperate plea from Obamas Palin-bashing backers at Us Weekly magazine to stop the bleeding. (Youll recall that on Sep 5., I posted the first groveling missive from the rags customer service department urging readers to read the smear-filled article before canceling. Oops. Bad advice

Printing and mailing 5 extra issues cost nothing compared to the loss of advertising revenue from a canceled subscription.

Saw the mag today at the store. I took all the copies and turned the magazine cover around, showing the back panel ad only.

Makes me want to go get a subscription just so I can turn around and cancel it.
To: Perdogg
Instead of 5 free issues, why don’t they show the NEXT cover to be a picture of Sarah and Todd hugging, and a nice wholesome article abouat their family and their LOVE.
Five free issues of more bias is worthless.
To: Perdogg
Why would someone want five extra copies of a magazine they’re cancelling?

AWESOME!! Now I can find out what kind of Cafe Latte Lindsay Lohan has before going out to the Hollywood clubs.

Why would I want 5 pieces of crap, even if it is free?

To: Perdogg
Heh-heh.
And what will the cover stories be on those five “free” issues?
“THE BOOKS SARAH PALIN TRIED TO BAN”
“WHY MICHELLE’S CHILDREN ADORE HER”
“EXCLUSIVE MISS ALASKA 1982 DRESSING ROOM PHOTOS”
“BARACK’S MANLY STYLE”
and:
“RIGHT-WING WACKO WHO WOULD BE VP”
To: Perdogg
No thanks. I hope they print my email I sent to them and everyone on my email list asking them to target the advertisers in US WEEKLY.

Saw the mag today at the store. I took all the copies and turned the magazine cover around, showing the back panel ad only. BRILLIANT IDEA!
We should all do that at every chance we get.

I would cancel my subscription to Us Weekly, but the chances of me actually having a subscription to that trashy magazine is precisely zero.

Saw the mag today at the store. I took all the copies and turned the magazine cover around, showing the back panel ad only. Ditto. I've been doing this all week, with the extra touch of placing a gun mag in front of the turned around stack.

Printing and mailing 5 extra issues cost nothing compared to the loss of advertising revenue from a canceled subscription.I really have no idea how they make their money because I got my wife a 3-year subscription for $11 on Ebay, no fake either because she's been receiving weekly issues since May. I think cancelling it would actually save them money.
