Oh, please, Oh, please.... tee this one up for Sarah Palin at the (undoubtedly useless, because they all are) VP debate....
Mengele did.
Joe would.
Paging Archbishop Chaput...
Bush is actually the first to support stem cell research....just not embryonic stem cell research. He knows all it is a way to justify abortion.
Good observation.
I care about people not plagiarizing in law school and having to take a course over again, Mr. Biden. I care about people not stealing others’ speeches and presenting them as my own (those of Neil Kinnock, Teddy Kennedy), Mr. Biden. I care about people not publicly proclaiming for 35 years about a tragic auto accident that claimed your wife, asserting it was a drunk truck driver and not the reality of a sad mistake for which no ticket was issued to either driver, Mr. Biden. I care about not having my relatives (son) employed to run a hedge fund at the salary of $1.2 million a year for which they have NO financial experience but when its connected to a bank regulated by the Senate commmittee you chair, Mr. Biden. I care about not having a relative (another son) end up as Assistant US Attorney after he flunked the Delaware Bar exam THREE times, Mr. Biden. I care about the fact that your friends and supporters in the national press don’t seem to give a damn or to inquire about any of this, Mr. Biden.
Hey, Joe:
I hear all this talk about how you are such a good Catholic and so supportive of your religion. Well guess what, Joe? If you care so much about the Roman Catholic Church, why dont you support it’s position on abortion and stem cell research?
We do support it. Skin stem-cells, breast milk stem cells, cord blood stem cells, and on and on.
Biden never met an abortion he didn’t like.
Sooner rather than later would be good.
McCain Says His Support Of Embryonic Stem Cell Research Is Unchanged
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/95212.php
Give him enough rope and...
We’ve got 72 good reasons to support Adult Stem Cell and Umbilical Cord Research. They’re called results.
Joe, do you know why the NAZIS said they experimented on Jews?
“They did it for science.”
1. Adult stem cell research - privately funded: Republicans OK with it.
2. Adult stem cell research - government funded: Republicans OK with it.
3. Embryonic stem cell research - privately funded: Republicans OK (but not happy) with it.
4. Embryonic stem cell research - government funded: Republicans NOT OK with it.
Got it now, Joey?
Is Biden stupid or evil, I wonder?
Make no mistake.
The impetus behind embryonic stem cell research is simply
to make sure there is no human value placed on the human embryo.
To do so would be to cast doubt that there is nothing wrong with killing one for the “mother’s” convenience.
They really couldn’t give a RIP about any potential cures that might come from this research.
If "WE" includes John McCain, you need to add Embryonic Stem Cell Research.
Taxpayer funded abortion - ALSO NOT OK.
He doesn’t care.
When people advocate the destruction of embryonic stem cells because the societal benefit outweighs the value of human life created and destroyed, they are accepting that the human life in question has some value, but hold that value to be low. The problem is, once you get into the business of assigning relative value to human life, it is difficult to know where to stop.
For instance, if another treatment required the tissues of a fetus from the 24th week of gestation, what are we to do about that? Or what about the debate, currently raging amongst medical ethicists, over changing the standard of what constitutes medical death in order to facilitate the harvesting of organs for transplant? Think of the medical benefit that could be derived if soon-to-die terminal patients could be quietly euthanized so their valuable organs could provide life and health to others. If we are to make value judgements of the relative value of human life, this one is a no-brainer.
And so it goes, step by step, with people with the best of intentions making one decision after another, always with an eye to the greater good. Then, one day, we will find ourselves standing in front of an industrial-sized gas chamber, and wonder how we got there.
The way to avoid this is, of course, to hold all human life to be inherently sacred and refuse to engage in arguments about which is greater than the other. The way to avoid it is to refuse to take that first step that Joe Biden is trying so hard to make us take.
