Was Joe Biden referring to Sarah Palin, a mother of a child with Down syndrome, when he made this comment?
Biden received a thunderous ovation when he made the remark at a town hall style meeting this morning in Columbia.“I hear all this talk about how the Republicans are going to work in dealing with parents who have both the joy, because there’s joy to it as well, the joy and the difficulty of raising a child who has a developmental disability, who were born with a birth defect. Well guess what folks? If you care about it, why don’t you support stem cell research?”

Someone needs to tell Biden that we DO support stem cell research - ADULT stem cell research.
What we don’t support is stem cell research utilizing aborted embryos. You know, the ones Biden’s side routinely destroy when they found out that the baby in utero wasn’t “perfect.”
Republicans DO support stem cell research. It was a Republican president, George W. Bush, who put in place the first government funding for stem cell research. What conservatives do NOT support is the creation of human embryos for the express purpose of destroying them in order to engage in this research.

Republicans do support Stem Cell Research. Adult Stems Cell research. Embryonic Stem Cells, which Obiden is talking about here, has been a medical dead end that produces nothing of use to the Medical community. Even the orginal proponet of Embroyonic stem cells says it a waste of time to follow and that research should shift to Adult Stem Cells.
Biden is a liar and a putz. President Bush was the first president to support stem cell research. President Bush, like most of America, does NOT support embryonic stem cell research that uses aborted babies.
