I remember during the lead up to the 2004 elections, the plethora of yellow “Support The Troops” ribbon magnets on everyone’s car in my purple part of New Jersey. Yes they’re gone for the most part now (not mine) but they were the subtle way of supporting the Commander in Chief and forcing the Libs who opposed them of being “anti-troops”.

It worked very well.
