OK, I'm a conservative who is very excited about Sarah Palin.
But, I have noticed over the past couple of days that Gov. Palin keeps using the EXACT same lines and phrases on the campaign trail that she used so effectively in her convention speech last week.
This is not good.
It is making her seem like a one-trick pony and it WILL be noticed by all very soon if she doesn't change up her rhetoric or at least preface such convention quotes with something like "as I have stated before..."
You dont notice this from Obama because after editing out all the “uh’s” Cnn is left with silence.
Though Palin’s speech was huge and widely viewed, she should change it up a little. But the fact that we notice this, means she is getting good coverage.
Add "bean-counter" and "lock-box" to the mix.
Chill out. Watch some of Sarah's archive footage--her CSPAN interview, her 2006 Gubernatorial debate, her Bartiromo interview, etc. You will quickly see she is a very smart and resourceful debater, and throws off tough questions about abortion/rape/incest or stem cells, etc. with ease. She will win over Charlie Gibson with her charm and answer his questions with aplomb.
Quit watching. It is called a stump speech. I saw W in person in 2004, and he didn’t say a word I hadn’t heard before. It was good to see in person.
EVERYONE ISN’T WATCHING AS CLOSELY!!!! THEY NEED TO HEAR IT!!!!!
And doesn't sound like a Harvard-educated jive-talking street corner gigolo. The only variation Obama has in his standard speech is usually some jab he tries to take at the other side, most of which backfire right in his face.
To conservatives and true Americans who love America... anything that supports America : pro-God , pro-Military, pro-Family, pro-Growth, anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, anti-marxism/communism never gets old.
She used the term “Getting Alaskan oil to the “Hungry Markets” about 800 times in the Maria Bartiromo interview on CNBC before being chosen at the VP running mate. It was driving me crazy as well.
But I think she’s now teflon. She was able to define herself with the convention speech before the left could define her. It is an uphill battle for them now. A large chunk of people have already made up their minds about her on a positive basis, as the “first seven minutes” they saw of her was at the convention.
George W. Bush repeated the same phrases over and over again with only minor variations and he managed to win an election or two.
And the undercurrent of negativism and "doom might be just around the corner" tone in your posts is growing tiresome.
Chill. All politicians do this. The only reason you and many others have noticed this is because we are listening to her every chance we get. That is a big positive. The speeches will soon change.
It was genius to let ABC follow her home. We are entering the truly vicious part of the media cycle, where they will work so show her has barely human. Seeing her at home will show how ridiculous these accusations are.
Let not your heart be troubled...
McCain has a team of experts that analyze every little thing they do, including how the American people respond to Sarah’s glasses.
If she is too repetitive, she’ll be coached on it.
As if Obama has said anything new the last 19 months...
“Four more years of the same failed Bush policies”...
I think I’ve heard this phrase 278 billion times
I’ve noticed that also and O’Reilly talked about it tonight.
Obama says the same thing every stump speech also. Umm hmm umm well umm hmmm ummm.
CNN was hammering it home today. Then they showed Hillary in Florida and she said, her No this, No that, No McCain/ Palin line again.
Take it easy. They all do this. There’s no reason to write a new speech for each appearance. That we are hearing about it just shows that the opposition is paying attention to her and they are frightened. And they are grabbing at any opportunity they see to criticize her. Dopes. They are just getting her more votes.
I think two things are happening, we are over-protective of her and the left want to bring her down like nobody has gone down before. It’s a combination that will always lead to things seeming worse than they are.
It’s pretty normal. We just never tended to notice it because we weren’t able to see the candidate give their speeches 6 times a day in different locations all around the country. Every time the use the same favorite line, each locality, in large part, thinks the Candidate rolled it back out just for them. Those of us that immerse ourselves in the online media available may wince but it’s not quite that way in person for normal people, not freak net addicts like us.
Maybe you haven’t followed these type of campaigns before, but that’s standard practice. They change up small lines here and there so the press has something new to report at each stop but they don’t write new speeches every single day. Every few weeks they’ll whip out something new. Only political junkies notice this though.
