One Potential Problem. re: Palin.

OK, I'm a conservative who is very excited about Sarah Palin.

But, I have noticed over the past couple of days that Gov. Palin keeps using the EXACT same lines and phrases on the campaign trail that she used so effectively in her convention speech last week.

This is not good.

It is making her seem like a one-trick pony and it WILL be noticed by all very soon if she doesn't change up her rhetoric or at least preface such convention quotes with something like "as I have stated before..."

Obama has been doing the same stump speech for 19 months and of course the MSM has not noted it...they are doing so here, but of course she has only been on the road for a week or so.
I think when Charlie Gibson interviews her at the end of the week...a smart move since she would look weak if keep in longer...there will be a different perspective. I hope she’s had a chance to study up...I think that she’ll be fine, but we better send up prayers...they are going after her big time!

She has her own ideas and is her own woman—but she is not the top of the ticket. She is spending time now learning McCain’s approach in detail so she can follow suit.

At each speech, the people actually in front of her have only heard the one thirty minute speech at the convention. To every listener in the crowd, this is the first time. Might even be the first time! And, to a great extent - the crowd WANTS to hear the original message repeated - but repeated to them in person this time.

If you were to talk with Churchill for 30 minutes, wouldn't you ask him about “blood, sweat, toil and tears” - though HE (and his secretary!) has heard about it thousands of times?

Even if she repeats certain phrases, you can't tell how much of the rest of the speech was changed - The MSM will use only 15 seconds from 30 minutes. THEY TOO are a creations of habits - because most can't think of any original thoughts.

Staying “on message” is the only way to survive.

But she is a marathon runner, and will survive.

Sheesh, give ‘em a break!

The lady HAS been a little busy lately...but I’m sure there will be new elements added to the stump speech as the issues emerge. Right now, I think they need to hone the message on the economy, as it’s #1 on the list of concerns.

But those who follow every appearance are bound to hear the same speech just like Deadheads hear the same tunes. So what? Maybe those pinhead leftie bloggers who think this is such a big deal will learn something.

You are paranoid, the normal time span for a message is about 5 appearances then it begins to change, but keeps a few of the key points that fire people up.

Those who should be paranoid are all those Democratic partisans who watched Ms. Hillary and Mr. Obama stating “change” over and over and over for 18 months and arguing about “change” over and over and over, without ever having an original thought on what ought to “change.”

Every national politician re-uses the same stump speech over and over and over again.

Well, keep in mind that Palin really exploded onto the Election, the speechwriters could not have a series of speeches prepared for her, and it “may” be that the one speech is all they had prepared for her to give.

Sarah is disengaging from the campaign for a short time to see her son Track off to Iraq along with the AK National Guard, and ABC is tagging along, after that, we’ll see what they prepared for her over those couple of days.

All good salespeople use the same word tracks over and over again. Its works and she is doing a good job selling the product. Don’t worry and don’t nit pick. They will close this deal...

Stump speech material. She’ll vary and change it as she does more whistle stops.

They do this all the time as they are in front of different audiences. How many times has B. Hussein Obama talked about more of the same from McCain and then promises change? These are just soundbites. The interviews and debates will overshadow this BIG TIME!

They give the same stump speech every day.
When McCain was here last month the press didn’t even go inside. They had heard every word 100 times.

Hi Mac,
Don’t sweat it. What you are seeing is a campaign message. The media is picking up these snippets of her speeches. What you are describing is actually good because it means she is not doing the typical “different city, different message.” I have been to a number of political rallies for Bush. He didn’t say anything new, except for the jabs at the opponents most recent comments or policy changes.
So no problem here. The media is picking up on this trying to push idea that she has nothing else. What matters in the end is that these people have guiding principles. Palin has them.

Either Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity said that she was doing this as she is focusing on learning the international ropes. Once she had the big stuff mastered she can concentrate on new speeches.

Tricky area. Steve Forbes manages to get type-casted because all he could talk about with any gusto was the flat tax. Sarah does need to be a bit careful about it.

But heck, give her a break, she’s had barely a week and she’s kicking butt (and Obama helping...now defending terrorists again).

It’s mainly a problem if the media broadcast large sections of her speeches.

I also noticed that there was a word-for-word echo of the convention speech when she gave her speech in the hanger in Colorado. It went on for at least several minutes, word for word. I have a pretty good memory, and I’m pretty sure there were at least several minutes that were word-for-word the same.

It’s not a problem if you speak to different audiences in different places. But I was a bit surprised that they would echo such a substantial part of the convention speech when almost everybody in the country had watched it.

On the other hand, Willie Brown said he replayed the convention speech right after she gave it, because it was so good he needed to listen to it a second time. So, who knows? The audience didn’t seem to be deterred.
