OK, I'm a conservative who is very excited about Sarah Palin.
But, I have noticed over the past couple of days that Gov. Palin keeps using the EXACT same lines and phrases on the campaign trail that she used so effectively in her convention speech last week.
This is not good.
It is making her seem like a one-trick pony and it WILL be noticed by all very soon if she doesn't change up her rhetoric or at least preface such convention quotes with something like "as I have stated before..."
I noticed this as well. I’m being patient, though. She just found out she was the VP nominee a week ago. I figure it will take her another week to get it together. That’s why it’s reasonable in this case for her to hold off on interviews.
I’m just afraid that the press won’t be so kind. This isn’t unusual for politicians, but the eyes of the world are on *her* now and truth doesn’t seem to matter.
Look at how they jumped on the fact that she worked with a speech writer. As if no politician had ever done that before.
I haven’t seen one positive post from you yet. Did you sign up as a troll during the Kerry campaign ?
Really?? EVERYONE saw the convention speech?? Great!! What’s that make it... 260 million in America alone?? AWESOME!!!
It seems to work for everyone elected President, Vice President, Senator, Congressman, Governor, state legislator, county commissionor, mayor, or councilman, in our nation's history, everyone of whom has a stump speech.
The analogy I have is alexander ovechkin does not play defence well but he is pretty darn good at putting the puck in the net.
in Albuquerque, mccain talked about a bunch of new things. He said he understood native american and the land issues of the west, that he was against bailing out speculators, that NM labs should be able to come up with nuclear reprocessing techniques and pointed out that France has quite a few nuclear plants and solved their reprocessing problem.
I know everyone here loves Sarah Palin but McCain can really do this campaign.
Not her job, that is why they have speechwriters. By the way, they took months writing her speech, no way they are going to throw it out.
“Suddenly the stump speech long a staple of American politics is a problem ?”
Hard to believe that this is only the 11th day isn’t it?
Like “my father worked in a mill”...glad we don’t have to hear that one any longer!
Aristotle?
;^)
You took the words out of my mouth. When an FR member barely posts anything for 8 years and comes out now with 'concerns', I become suspicious.
Its a stump speech they dont change it up daily.
“you must be new to political campaigns. basically the candidate tries to reinforce the memory of the convention speech.”
As I have stated, I have been watching politics for the past 40 years. “Reinforcing” is not the same as Repeating word for word. I figure 80% of the people that show up to a “stump speech” have already seen and heard the convention speech. In this age, this could be a problem for such a newcomer. We’re playing NOW, not Then.
Every campaign, Democrat and Republican, does it. This same thing happened in the primaries, and in the elections of 2000 and 2004. The candidates hit the major topics at every campaign stop, and use, essentially the same speech. Nothing nefarious, they just can't possibly write a new speech for every stop.
True, a great deal of repetition. I saw some video of Obama where he appeared at least a dozen venues. In each one, he stated that he couldn’t experience salvation except through the collective salvation of us all. Which isn’t exactly a Christian notion.
Have you forgotten the Social Security Lockbox?
I need a beer to put these flames out!!! LOL!
