After months of record-breaking fund-raising, a new sense of urgency in Senator Barack Obamas fund-raising team is palpable as the full weight of the campaigns decision to bypass public financing for the general election is suddenly upon it.
Pushing a fund-raiser later this month, a finance staff member sent a sharply worded note last week to Illinois members of its national finance committee, calling their recent efforts extremely anemic.
At a convention-week meeting in Denver of the campaigns top fund-raisers, buttons with the image of a money tree were distributed to those who had already contributed the maximum $2,300 to the general election, a subtle reminder to those who had failed to ante up.
The signs of concern have become evident in recent weeks as early fund-raising totals have suggested that Mr. Obamas decision to bypass public financing may not necessarily afford him the commanding financing advantage over Senator John McCain that many had originally predicted.

2300 goes to Obama, the rest goes to the DNC. The DNC is limited in how it uses its cash to help Obama. Same thing with the Republicans. Any money you donate now can either go to the RNC, 527’s, or Legal Defense funds to challenge voter fraud.

[snip] Democrat Barack Obama says he would delay rescinding President Bush’s tax cuts on wealthy Americans if he becomes the next president and the economy is in a recession, suggesting such an increase would further hurt the economy. [end]
“It’ll be okay to hurt the economy in future years, just not right away at the beginning of my reign, er, term. Hurting the economy would hurt working people, and that would be contrary to my Muslim faith.”

“0bama needs more money to buy more $7 million Greek columns, pay his 300 advisors, pay off even more consultants, and pay 500 astroturfers to smear Gov. Palin.”
His ego forbids practicality. His need for constant adulation will break the bank yet.
The indoor rat venue looked like a strip club.
I mean, it looked like what I'm told a strip club looks like.
Just a thought. Aren’t the present rules on Presidential campaign financing dictated by a certain piece of legislation known as McCain Feingold? Isn’t one of those two fellas running for President? Do you think that fella might have put something in that legislation that would help him out one day? Nah, nobody would plan that far in advance.
I think Patton did say that Americans will not tolerate a loser.
Patton had a pretty harsh take on American sentiments, but I think Americans all across the political spectrum are as harsh as can be when it comes to Presidential candidates who disappoint their supporters.

More evidence that not just PUMA’s but Hillary’s rank and file are ready to bail on the exalted Zero. Read the frontpage story about how Zero’s minions are threatening Hillary’s supporters, even though Zero’s robots have reneged on the promise to help with her campaign debt. If this was already posted, I apologize.
$28,500 goes to the DNC and $2,300 goes to Obama’s campaign. And the DNC can use their money to promote Obama (i.e., commercials).
>Zeros robots have reneged on the promise to help with her campaign debt.
Problem is, you can’t pay off Hilary’s debt if you are short on cash. So ...
- In order to win, you need Hillary to Campaign
- For Hillary to campaign you need cash
- You are in a cash crunch and the only way to get cash is to look likely to win
Catch 22
There might be something here.
The Republicans, on the other hand, chose a simplier, most assuredly less expensive approach to there convention. I think they got more bang for the buck!Little did they know, after announcing Sarah Palin, they could have held the convention in a city park or a shopping mall.
LOL! I’m borrowing that for my tagline.
Is it to late for him to apply for public funding for his campaign ? if it is .. GOOD !!
Sorry Obama, the hippies already emptied their piggy banks.
Thanks so much for that link!!
Here’s a McCain - Obama joke that was posted there. I’ve heard it before, but it’s been a while with different names instead of McCain and Obama:
The Joke:
John McCain and Barack Obama somehow ended up at the same barbershop.
As they sat there, each being worked on by a different barber, not a word was spoken. The barbers were even afraid to start a conversation, for fear it would turn to politics.
As the barbers finished their shaves, the one who had Obama in his chair reached for the aftershave.
Obama was quick to stop him saying, No thanks, my wife Michelle will smell that and think Ive been in a whorehouse,
The second barber turned to McCain and said, How about you?
McCain replied, Go ahead, my wife doesnt know what the inside of a whorehouse smells like.
(Insert cymbal crash here)
At another website: “Hillary is 44”, on a thread that another Freeper posted from there entitled: “Funeral In Denver”, some of the posters were commenting on Obamassiah’s
“Funeral speech and extravaganza”.
More than one person mentioned that ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS was spent in Denver to launch the “Annointed One” ‘s fall campaign. The 100 million and the “stadium venue” were supposed to be the “seeds” that would sprout the entire world to open their wallets to give Obamassiah his 100 mil a month goal from June-to the November election.
The DNC and Obamassiah were ALREADY behind starting with the June fundraising totals, but wanted the big extravaganza to highlight his never to be forgotten speech so doners would “ride the wave” to victory Nov 4th, and the “speech” would be on constant replay world wide with the “totally-in-the-tank” for Obamassiah & “Plugs The Babysitter”’s MSM “unbiased” reporters. They would have all the free publicity from them, so why not put on a “REAALY BIG SHOW”!!!
The posters were laughing at his arrogance (and the DNC’s) because their 100 mil got them about FOURTEEN HOURS of coverage when McCain announced Sarah Palin as his VP pick. Their spin machine was ready to go with ANY of the other picks, with the ads already “in-the-can” with whomever McCain picked from the “VP list”.........EXCEPT SARAH!!!!
It was such a joy reading through approximately 950 POSTS!!
They also mentioned the fact that Obamassiah was going to go the “internet money well” for his final 2 months thinking his “followers” (the “caucus crews”) that he hit up more than once, along with the “fall-in-line-and-take-it-you-lost” Hillary supporters and bundlers, would coast him to victory against “McBush”.
Well they were posting that Obamassiah was going to be in for a REAL shock, and that McCain’s 87 mil was going to be looking like a very smart move, much to BHO’s and the MSM’s COMPLETE DISMAY AND SURPRISE.
The meltdown of the MSM and BHO’s camp has already just begun, and when I think it can’t get any better, hour by hour, and almost minute by minute, I have continued to be proven wrong!!
There are a lot of Obama ads running in Wisconsin. The pro-abortion ad is running on the radio — primarily on music stations aiming at women.
It is a really bad ad. The message is devious and disingenuous. From a political perspective, it should be coming from a 527.
The abortion ad shows that Obama must be really struggling to draw the Hillary supporters. He should be running to the center to grab independents, but he is running really extreme ads to shore up the left wing of his own party.
How CAN they ante up after eight years of the crippling Bush tax cuts all those loudmouths were screaming about from the podium?
Hmm...perhaps an appeal for Obamaoists to sell their Star Trek memorabilia on Ebay and donate to Obamao?
Wait a minute, I like Star Trek memorabilia. If they did that my Grandson would be getting junk I handed down to him.
