Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will speak at her son’s Army deployment ceremony on 9/11 and spend two days with ABC News crews later this week as part of a McCain campaign plan to increase Americans’ comfort with her as a leader.
Campaign and network officials had said on Sunday that her first television interview would be a sit-down with Charles Gibson of ABC’s “World News.”
But it turns out that she is spending much of Thursday and Friday with Gibson — at the ceremony in Fairbanks, Alaska, and at her home in Wasilla, Alaska.
Campaign aides said the anchorman will get extensive, repeated access to Palin throughout her first trip home since becoming the nominee.
“ABC News will have plenty of time to question her and examine her and spend time with her,” a campaign official said. “They’ll do multiple interviews over two days. No topics are off-limits – there are no ground rules. There’s tons of time to talk to her about every topic.” ...

Everytime I’ve thought “Oh no, they might be putting too much on her to do this or do that”, she exceeds my expectations.
She’s the Real McCoy.
ABC news is out to destroy Sarah, McCain, the Republican Party and any conservative thought. Two days will produce what they and the other media want, by splicing the tapes, soundbites, explaining what she “really said”. Why are we doing this for two days?
If YouTube or the FNC special is any indication, Palin excels at these types of interviews. Then again, she pretty much seems to excel at everything.
Actually--I think the wisdom and courage McCain showed in picking Palin is very much an answer to prayer!
This is brilliant. Who is in charge of the McCain campaign...who is this guy...?
OK, Charlie, take it back to your ‘87 Good Morning America days and be objective. And remember, this woman can wring your neck and change a diaper at the same time.
she is something else. Smart, great memory, very strong and very charming.
In the Alaska debates available on youtube, she impressed me as a confident speaker without the hemming and hawing (”um, uh, ah ,um”) that you get from Obama when he’s talking about when life begins, the success of the surge, etc. The key to her confidence is that she has core beliefs and doesn’t have to adjust her words to audience of the day.
Schmidt is the new sheriff in town.
If McCain’s people are smart, and I have no reason to believe they’re not, they will demand the master tape from ABC or make their own simultaneously. Then if ABC plays games they’ll be caught good.

When they do something like this, they should insist that a campaign camera crew travel along. That way they can’t cut and splice video.
That was my first thought when this issue arose yesterday. Get the final editorial approval in writing! But I can’t believe the campaign that skewered the MSM at the convention would be so dumb to walk into a trap. They must have made their feelings clear, in addition to be very confident.
Nonetheless, let’s hold this prayerfully in our hearts. Because this could be a thermonuclear weapon. Actually, it most probably will be; but let’s pray it isn’t unfairly turned against us by the media. Bottom line: I’m positive on it.
Thanks. I don’t know what the problem is. I searched ‘rollout” then I searched ‘palin”.

Now that is insightful, by filming her speaking at her son’s Deployment to Iraq, and to the AK National Guard, she will have a visual that Obama or Biden cannot match.
That will bolster her “Ready to go from Day 1” credibility.
A Rovian Padwan clearly is running things here...a sort of Mini Me Magnificent Bastard.
McCain has finally got a campaign staff that is smart both strategically and tactically. B.O. who always stammers without a prompter is now incoherent with panic.
Well I have a job where I keep the radio on all the time. Mostly ABC local. Every 30 minutes on newsbreak for 19 months I have been inundated with Barack Obama. Over and over. Aaaron Katurski, all the big dogs. Never a good word for John McCain. And when Sarah broke, they were right in there with everything CNN had, including the child and her infant. That is why I say this.
