Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies.
We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals.
John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party.
And the fact that Republicans and conservatives of every stripe, including the Christian right are flocking to her side and that the conservative grassroots has been re-energized literally overnight is proof that when offered the choice of truly conservative candidates, conservatives and Republicans will react accordingly.
Even though I've stated in the past that I would not vote for McCain, I will be supporting this ticket. Governor Palin is a God-fearing, kick butt conservative and I'd much rather have her advising and standing in the wings for the presidency than Joe Biden. I'll definitely pull the lever for her. And I'll do all I possibly can to keep the America-hating Marxist Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!

I would still rather take my chances with McCain’s picks, than Hussein’s.
I hear you brother! I decided a couple of months ago to vote for McCain but very reluctantly. His choice of Sarah Palin changes all that! I’m very enthuiastic about voting for a ticket that she’ll be on. I think she’s a bright new shining star of the Republican Party and see great things ahead for her and for the party if it can catch up with her.

I disagree. We do not have Reagan in the wings. He was unique and is sorely missed. What we have now is the improved version of the Conserative, get it done model of leadership.
Our country has been blessed with outstanding statesmen when we needed them, Washington, Lincoln, Truman, Reagan, and now we have a new one coming onto the stage. And then we can talk about the outstanding statespeople we are so fortunate to have. Thank God.
I will concur with BG....I do have reservations w McCain...esp his recent announcement that he will appoint “democrats” to the cabinet.
McCain is still a big problem to the conservative movement, and still not certain how much influence Palin will have if he is elected.

I've disliked McCain for a really long time. Governor Palin is to be respected and encouraged. But McCain is at the top of the ticket and his 25 to 30 years of stabbing conservatives in the back, just won't go away.

I see this as vindication. We have listened to people for many months savage socially conservative people. With the choice of Palin, it was the admission that one balances the other. McCain is a lucky man.
I call them the well rounded, Reagan type conservatives that have always been aware that you cannot have one without the other.
uh....there is a song about that....it applies here.
I won't disagree with you, however, there are still questions about McCain that need to have definitive answers, illegals, stem-cell research, etc.
Granted, his choice of Palin was astute and timely, and if he follows his maverick course, the next 4 years will be interesting.
We have seen the new face to the old party of conservatives. We see the future of conservatism as it is rooted in the past.

I was hoping (but didn’t really expect) he would pick Gov. Palin. I wasn’t really sure I would support them until her speech at the convention. She was great and I will support them with my vote and money.
