Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies.
We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals.
John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party.
And the fact that Republicans and conservatives of every stripe, including the Christian right are flocking to her side and that the conservative grassroots has been re-energized literally overnight is proof that when offered the choice of truly conservative candidates, conservatives and Republicans will react accordingly.
Even though I've stated in the past that I would not vote for McCain, I will be supporting this ticket. Governor Palin is a God-fearing, kick butt conservative and I'd much rather have her advising and standing in the wings for the presidency than Joe Biden. I'll definitely pull the lever for her. And I'll do all I possibly can to keep the America-hating Marxist Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!
I think it shows a willingness to put conservatives in positions of influence and that’s a good executive decision. I don’t know what he would be able to do with a SCOTUS pick with a democrat held senate but I cannot imagine how leftist the court would become with Barry Obama making the picks.
I agree, and we will continue to keep his feet to the fire. I am thrilled out of my mind with Palin.
I am glad to see you coming around :-)
Heard something about your recent illness
and hope you are well.
me too, I have sent in three checks to RNC in last 10 days.
I too was not going to vote for McCain. If it wasn't going to be a true conservative such as Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo, I was going to sit the election out.
Top all that off with my state of Virginia voting in for a POS like Jim Webb and voting out George Allen. The state of Virginia going from Red to Blue and still intending to vote in liberal Mark Warner (to replace RINO John Warner). Our northern neighbor Pennsylvania voting out Rick Santorum, I just figured we were on the path to shut out the lights and close the door on this country.
Then along came Governor Sara Palin. Other names like Bobby Jindal and other names of a new generation of true Conservatives popping up....
Though I still have my problems with McCain and his record, I will vote for him as will our family and begin to look forward again to the future.
The alternative Barak Hussein Obama and his past, his agenda for thee future were downright frightening. To me, Barak Hussein Obama is the same as news from the doctor of "terminal" you've got four years or less to live."
YEAY, Mr. Robinson! But I think a lot of people also saw John Sidney McCain III in a new light, as well.
McCain's always made me a little nervous, and his bending over for the mexicans still disgusts me.
However, my gut says this Palin gal is the real deal, and perhaps a harbinger for a conservative resurgence in our nation.
It certainly can't be denied that the psychological turnaround on FR the past week has been pretty phenomenal.
So yes, my vote for the P/Mc ticket will likely be the last dance with hope for our nation that I'll have the chance to indulge in this lifetime.
If we can't begin to clean up some of the cesspool in DC this time around, I'm afraid our children, and certainly our grandchildren, will be living in the Socialist States of America.
Way to come back in from the cold. Now, with Governor Palin onboard, if things go right we could be looking at a conservative restoration for the next 16 years. I can see 8 years for McCain-Palin followed by 8 years of Palin-Jindal, then 8 more Jindal-whomever. It’s not out of the realm. But we need to double down in defeating Obama-Biden. While I feel - and history supports my feelings - Americans are too sensible overall to elect two northern leftists, we can’t rest easy until the finals are in and Mr. McCain and Mrs Palin are sworn into office January 9, 2009.
There is no doubt in my mind that as long as McCain wins, Sarah Palin WILL be the first female POTUS.
For God and the Republic
Good point, I was gonna hold my nose and vote McCain, now I can do so with both hands.
Cue the guitars...
I was entirely displeased with the Republican ticket until two things happened:
1) Saddleback - McCain's performance was exceptional. He started me looking his way after comparing his performance with that of obammy.
2) Palin - All I can say is WOW!
I'll be pulling that lever with great confidence in our future, as I really feel that Sarah Palin would skin McCain if he did anything stupid...
Conservatives are at their best when the President truly is a conservative.
Nixon, Bush Sr, and Bush Jr were Republicans, but not necessarily dedicated to the conservative base.
McCain is also not totally dedicated 100% to the conservative base.
McCain has made the right decisions so far to join the very small club of Reagan style Republican conservatives.
Right now, the conservative base is telling McCain GO!!!!
I'm going to pinch one nostril shut.
I won’t be voting for McCain — I can’t conscientiously do so — but I might write in Palin for the top spot. Prior to her nomination, I literally did not care whether McCain or Obama won; now I hope McCain wins and subsequently beats William Henry Harrison’s record for shortest term.
And I'm one of those folks! Hence my tagline.
mccain even looks more alive since he brought palin aboard!
