POST ENDORSES JOHN MCCAIN (The New York Post: "...we're in their corner to the finish.")

POST ENDORSES JOHN MCCAIN

THAT'S THE TICKET: John McCain and Sarah Palin, here onstage at the Republican convention, offer the promise of sound economic, security and energy policies.

THE Post today enthusiastically urges the election of Sen. John S. McCain as the 44th president of the United States.

McCain's lifelong record of service to America, his battle-tested courage, unshakeable devotion to principle and clear grasp of the dangers and opportunities now facing the nation stand in dramatic contrast to the tissue-paper-thin résumé of his Democratic opponent, freshman Sen. Barack Obama.

McCain has been in Washington for many years now, but he is not of Washington. He knows where the levers of power are located - and how to manipulate them - but he is not controlled by them.

McCain's selection of the charming, but rock-solid, outsider Sarah Palin as his running mate underscores the point.

Neither plays well with others.

And this is an unalloyed asset at a time when special interests - lobbyists, lawyers and organized labor chief among them - wield enormous influence in the nation's capital.

McCain's Democratic opponents, Obama and Sen. Joseph Biden, lead a party constructed of special interests - public-employee unionists in particular.

the heavy hitter is the moribund NY Times

If Newsday still has a NYC edition, it will certainly endorse Obama, Peace be upon him.

He had better, when you see the attitudes of his son, well to Rupert's left, and possibly without the sense to follow his father's business model.

One son went back to Australia....was he the more conservative one

James who is basically English is the one you are talking about I think....the youngest.

Rupert’s dad was very socially conservative...but died young.

WSJ just published McCain/Palin essay on Fannie May.

http://online.wsj.com/article_print/SB122091995349512749.html

In an nut shell, McCain looking to ensure no more bailouts .... ever.

Expect WSJ to come out with an endorsement soon. If they start using words like “culture of corruption” etc. The Times will be painted into a corner. If they endorse Obama/Biden and McCain/Palin hammer away at earmarks and donations, it will put the Times in the position of having to defend corruption.

Sucks to be them ...

Excellent news, both pages well worth a look for a sunny start for anyone’s day...thanks so very much for posting!

The utterly low-class and gutter-level of The Anointed One’s “lipstick on a pig” comment reveals the terror that he feels....he finally understands that he could lose this election (which he will) and he is becoming desperate. Just as a drowning man will clutch at anything with no regard for courtesy or niceties, so also B. Hussein Obama now reverts to his uncultured core and essentially says that a former beauty queen “looks like a pig”. Such a person not only shouldn’t be President, he shouldn’t be in America.
We are better people than that.
