I find so-called "values voters" to be completely inscrutable.
First, their "values" seem to revolve entirely around their opposition to: abortion rights, promiscuity, gay marriage, sex-education and church-state separation. Values including compassion, tolerance, generosity and humanity do not apply.
But then, when these voters are confronted with politically conservative candidates who seem to defy the Christian Right's rigid prescription for moral behavior, they shrug. No biggie.
When I look at the ticket of McCain-Palin, I see a guy who was a playboy, who left his first wife after she stood by him, raising his children, until his release as a POW. I see a VP pick who gave birth a mere eight months after eloping, whose husband has had trouble with the concept of a designated driver, and whose pregnant 17-year-old daughter is unmarried.
But what really burns my begonias is not this explicit hypocrisy. It is that the Christian Right is positively jubilant over the fact that Sarah Palin's daughter intends to keep the baby and get married.......

Well Robyn Blumner, here’s why you cannot figure it out.
None of us are giving her high-fives or applauding her for becoming pregnant, or having sex before marriage. IN all cases you never support the wrong behavior.
There are two ways you respond to people who screw up. The ones who reject the right things to do, and don’t think they have done anything wrong, and continue to make bad choices, you continue to rebuke and call to repentance.
The other way is, if when you talk with these people and discuss what they have done wrong, and they recognize they screwed up and did wrong things, and want help to do the right things from now on and be responsible for what they have done, those are the ones you can then deal with from forgiveness and love, and a heavy handed approach is not required.
Prideful, stubborn, unrepentant sinners require rebuke and a hard response until they recognize their error. People who make mistakes and recognize it, and want to do the right thing to deal with their mistakes do not need the same kind of treatment.
Robyn, buy a clue. You have no concept of a Christian worldview which encompasses sin, repentance, forgiveness, love and so much more. Your understanding of Christian values would be laughable were it not so pathetic.
This is truly too funny to deserve any kind of barf alert.
“yet conservatives have helped to ensure that few young people have that as a viable option.”
Another thing oh so wrong.
No Robyn, we ensure that those young people are surrounded by support. The families....thats a novel idea to you, I guess.
We do not rely or depend on the government to bail us out or pay for the child. The parents in this case (Levi and Bristol) will more than likely finish their educations too...because the families will help out.
So allow me to fix your inaccuracy...
Conservatives have helped to ensure that young people have viable options and still have the baby.
Levi Johnston’s employment prospects may be enhanced by being the son-in-law of the Vice President of the United States, and later of the President of the United States.
They constantly stereotype (bigots) Christians and conservatives. “Values Voters” simply means we have some. Doesn’t mean we’re perfect, or that we demand perfection in others. Just means we think it “a more perfect union” if, as Washington said, our freedom is properly based on morals and ethics.
Life, versus death love versus hate, love, joy, peace, patience....etc
A blueprint for a better life and society, proven by the overwhelming success of the American experiment. We mess up, we have a compass to get back on track.
Simple, yet incomprehensible to the secular left because “things of the spirit can not be discerned in the flesh”.
You’re right. She doesn’t. And here’s why:

This family lives life in the open and the Moonbats can’t handle it. Precious
you are correct... they absolutely do not understand us... they do not understand Jesus... they can't... they still have the scale on their eyes...
Therefore: Kill the baby (quickly) so these two teens can go to government schools )get an indoctrination (er, education) and buy more video games and Ipods and fast cars.

that should read, “scales on their eyes...”
Robyn Blumner apparently has never heard of premature babies...according to another thread, Gov. Palin’s latest child was born a month early.
Because cracking an 8-month old fetus's skull and crushing its head is the epitome of compassion.
They really are incapable of seeing themselves as they really are, aren't they . . .
The tagline says it all.
See what I mean? Articles like this are the reason it’s so easy to be sucked in by Scrappleface.
