No votes a record? How does that evidence support for “change?”

Obama should have gotten into the Senate and been the biggest pain in the butt because he was CONSTANTLY trying to rouse the Dems--filing bills, pushing the Dem leadership to do all kinds of things, so that voters would be thinking "Wow, this guy got his foot in the door and look at all he tried to do--imagine if he's president what he'll do?"

The reality is that he is the ultimate hack, doing everything his party leaders wanted from his Chicago days onward.

His attitude seems to be "I don't have to waste my energy on that piddly little US Senate. Just make me president, and then I'lll REALLY get started!"

He's the ultimate example of his and my generation's slacker mentality--he wanted to get out of college and run the country, making no stops between. He could barely make any effort in winning the senate seat (helped by a scandal and the media and the Republicans not putting up anything resembling an effective opponent). And once he DID get into the senate--a powerful position--he didn't use his time there to help anyone, to change anything. He made these half-hearted nothing stabs at something like a record, and now he thinks we should just see his gloriousness and make him our leader.

No.

Obama makes John Kerry look like a hard worker. Did you know that Kerry served in Vietnam?

"This rookie goober was a no-show."

IIRC I checked on McCains and Obama's voting record a short while back and found McCain was a no vote almost all of 2008 also. They are busy campaining. We need to compare the votes they did make.

I got a chuckle out of this one:

Bill Number: HR 3057
Issue: Appropriations
Date: 07/19/2005

Official Title of Legislation:

S AMDT 1241 to HR 3057: To prohibit funds from being made available to the United States Agency for International Development for entertainment expenses.

Project Vote Smart’s Synopsis:

Vote to adopt an amendment that repeals the provision allocating $5 thousand annually for entertainment activities such as dinners in the USAID budget since 1999.

Senator Obama voted NO.

Yep, Obama voted to divert aid money to the aid workers’ five-course dinners. That’s helping the poor for you.
