But the point raised at the link is a very good one: Obama smears the McCain campaign for everything anyone says against Obama, even when McCain says "Knock off the attacks against Obama". And so on that basis, Obama MUST be responsible for all of the disgusting slurs against Palin. The fact that Obama has said "Knock off the disgusting slurs" does not matter -- at least by Obama's standards.
“Muslim” is a person who practices Islam. If it were a true Fruedian slip, Obama would have said “my Islamic faith.”
Muslim and Islam cannot be used interchangeably to describe both the person and the religion as the word “Christian” can.
Someone should get the Muslim prayer times for North America and see if Barrys trips to the washroom with a little floor mat coincide with them. Hehe, know what I mean?
True. Just like Sarah Palin never advocated teaching creationism in schools. That won’t stop either from being endlessly repeated.
The left says McCain should be tested for Alzheimer’s. Obambi’s gaffes sound just as bad. And we want to play nice... screw that, he says he is a Muslim, then he is a Muslim.
So, why did Stephanopoulos interrupt and offer the correction: “Christian faith”. And why did Obama accept the correction and repeat it?
Oh come on!...if a Republican misspelled potato it would be huge news that could change the course of an election.
member since 7/4 08.
An amoral Marxist-leaning narcissist is far more dangerous in the presidency than your typical Muslim, IMHO...
Welcome to free Republic! ;-)
My spell checker always wanted to replace “Obama” with “Alabama”, which just didn’t seem right. So I loaded Osama bin Laden into the spell dictionary and now it wants to replace “Obama” with “Osama”......good for a chuckle every time I click it. It’s the small things in life, don’t you find?

Obamadon, during Ramadan, exposes his Mohammdan random ramblings
But, as a wise man once said, facts are stupid things. ;-)
The issue is that when people misspeak, they generally realize it, and correct themselves. I wouldn't say 'My opponent has never connected me to my Buddhist faith' without it registering with me that I had misspoken. As an instructor I'm often clarifying or correcting myself. Sometimes my explanations sounds less correct to my ears than it did in my head. The more important or un-ambiguous the topic, the more likely I would catch myself.
If I said, for instance, "Make sure you remove the batteries from your system before turning it on", it would strike me right away that I misspoke. Removing the power source from an electronic device before turning it on is clearly incorrect.
Obama has no light of recognition on his face that he said anything wrong. Either he didn't think he said anything wrong, or he's just not very bright. I'm perfectly willing to accept either possibility.
I want to undermine Obama asa much as anyone, but I agree after watching the clip that Obama was saying “my Muslim faith” to indicate that that is what some folks were claiming rather than that is his actual faith. Trying to read it otherwise only makes the person claiming it look bad!
He blew it. He said what he said and accepted the correction, but..... it’s too late.
There’s something I recall about islam saying that it’s OK to lie to infidels to further their cause.
He’s absolutely right. And there are two other ways to use this clip, without misleading people by pretending Obama said he was a muslim.
First, the clip again makes Obama sound like an idiot. Twice in a 1-minute period, he loses his train of thought, does his “um” thing, waves his hand around, like he has no idea what to say next.
Better, it’s a great example of George Stephanopolis acting like a member of the Obama campaign rather than an unbiased journalist. A real journalist wouldn’t be “correcting” his guests, trying to tell the guests what they SHOULD say.
Darn. I didn’t get the memo prior to sending it off to 26 Reagan Democrats.
Aw shucks. My bad.
