I want to undermine Obama asa much as anyone, but I agree after watching the clip that Obama was saying “my Muslim faith” to indicate that that is what some folks were claiming rather than that is his actual faith. Trying to read it otherwise only makes the person claiming it look bad!

It is obvious that it is not an actual admission of being a Muslim, that is not the point. The point is that the sentence construction is very odd unless it was a Freudian slip. To say,”Senator McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith” just doesn’t strike the right tone. It would have seemed much more normal to say something like,”Senator McCain has not accused me of being of the Muslim faith or something similiar. It may seem like a small thing but such things can be very revealing. Then there is the matter of the interviewer seeing such an obvious need to correct him as though it sounded very strange to his ears also.
