Hurricane Ike is the fifth tropical cyclone of the 2008 hurricane season to threaten U.S. Gulf Coast states.
Reports from Turks & Caicos Islands describe 80 per cent of homes damaged or destroyed. On Sunday, Hurricane Ike's position just north of Hispanola was hampering relief efforts for devastation incurred by Hurricane Gustav and Tropical Storm Fay. The death toll in Haiti from Gustav reached 200 people.
Florida Governor Charlie Crist held a press conference Sunday morning shortly after a Hurricane Watch was issued for the Florida Keys.

and in other news...The Sarah Palin Action Doll is now on sale for $27.95-$29.95. (I couldn't resist--LOL)
LOL. Totally understandable.
In between and we both get windmill parts in our yards.
huh.
the 11am 5 day has moved it up a tad and put LA back in the cone. That’s interesting. It’s the first time I have seen the model shift right with Ike. Wonder how long before the models are posted? The 8am is still up.
and cows!
The Dolls gave me a good laugh.Heheehe
Ike has another 1000 miles to torment TX GOM residents.
The northern kick is in NHC, Nueces now.
Ha! I don’t think they do Sarah justice. Then again, the Obama Pez dispenser makes him look like the pencil head that he is.
His looks like Bettlejuice after they shrunk his head.Did listen to the sound bits on the next page.I love it-hehehe
Yeah... and you had just posted something about just watching patterns:’)
Unless something changes drastically, I’m afraid we’ll be on the flooding side. CD are you as wet down there as we are up here?
I found another video of the waves coming in.This has a front shot.

Yesterday I was moving the Google Earth cursor around to get West Cuba elevations. Looks like there’s a real pitfall in doing that. If you’re not zoomed in close enough, you’re only getting an average elevation for some arbitrary square or rectangle of land. So I was seeing “elevations” that were much lower than the actual high points and ridges. This shows up also when you look at the “elevation” of the sea near the coast. It is significantly above sea level! Also, GE has started acting up and corrupting the screen when it is minimized and the IR views are active...darn
Yeah. It’s rained every day. The roads flood and each time it’s taking longer to drain off.
I still can’t get over the waves crashing into buildings in Cuba—and the people standing there watching it.
It was like a mini-tsunami.
LOL—great idea for painting plywood—jailhouse bars. I don’t like the bare plywood “crack house” look at all.
