Questions About Biden's Real Estate
ABC ^ | September 6 | Jake Tapper

Posted on 09/06/2008 2:09:47 PM PDT by PghBaldy

The Wilmington (Del.) News Journal takes a look today at some of the real estate transactions of Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del.

Biden is one of the least wealthy members of Congress, but he enjoys a splendid home because of real estate deals with political supporters.

The Bidens live "on a four-acre lakefront estate in a 7,000-square-foot custom home" in Greenville, Del., a property worth at least $2.5 million.

Reports the newspaper: "In 1996, Biden sold a home in Greenville for the asking price of $1.2 million -- more than six times what he paid two decades earlier -- to John R. Cochran III, a top executive at the MBNA credit card bank that was a longtime political benefactor. Using profits from that sale, Biden paid $350,000 cash to real estate executive and developer Keith D. Stoltz for 4.2 vacant acres -- a long, narrow lot a few miles from Biden's old home. Stoltz had bought that same lot five years earlier for the same price…

Ah-HA!

Does this mean that Joe Biden might know Tony Rezko?

Hmmm, sounds like a little cattle-futuring to me. Sadly, these kinds of things are well-neigh impossible to prove. There is never a quid pro quo paper trail.

Tapper's working with Hillary's people to get Joe out.

Get the popcorn.

Gee, maybe it's Obambi who didn't properly vette his Veep candidate...

But with friends like Rezko and those clowns on his Veep selection committee that he threw under the bus, maybe he had a blind spot.

HUH—The News Journal would report news about Joe Biden. For what reason, I would guess to get this out before a real big story breaks. I lived in Wilmington area for 38 years and believe me they love Joe Biden. In fact, I am a conservative and I like him as a person, not his political side.

The posters at the site don’t get it.

He sold a house to a supporter in a soft market for many times more than he had purchased it for, at the asking price.

But bought a lot from a supporter, for the same price the supporter had paid for it years before, with the excuse from the seller the market was soft.

You can’t have it both ways.

Maybe Obama needs to drop Biden and they’ve decided to start vetting him now, LOL. Palin did say he hoped Biden had his VP status in writing.

Anything that looks too good to be true generally is. And when that is applied to grifting pols and their personal financial transactions, you can eliminate the word “generally”.

Plugs’ payoffs appear to be taking the form of money to his kids, and ridiculous real estate “deals”. The only thing surprising is that there aren’t more of them, or even more money involved. But then, Delaware is a very, very small state. And Plugs appears to lack imagination.

A house appreciating 6 times the original purchase price during the 20-year period 1976-1996 is not extraordinary.

Biden also pushed through legislation which made it harder for the individual to declare bankruptcy. Something that the credit card companies were for. And MBNA is a major issuer of credit cards.

.

And they have the NERVE to ask about John McCain’s homes???

___________________________

Obama’s ‘World Poverty Act’ amounts to sticking America with a tax that amounts $2500 for every man, woman and child in American, Americans are hurting desperately- and we’re ALREADY GIVING BILLIIONS TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES WHO HATE US???
My God! How this needs to get out to the voter!! MOST OF THEM DON’T KNOW ABOUT THIS!
(along with Obama’s campaigning for the murderous cousin, Odinga who was Muslim backed)
You just KNOW McCain and the Repubs won’t report this.
It’s up to US.
DON”T LET THIS DROP!

When Obama joined Wright’s black supramicist ‘church’, he vowed he would place ‘Mother Africa’ above all else. (See the church doctrine)
Have you really considered what might happen if he were elected president? He’s already said he’d stop the fighting in Dafur, gone to Kenya to campaign for his murderous cousin, Odinga, and stated that the U.S. should interfer in their elections.
Have you considered that we might be sending billions of dollars and thousands of troops to Africa to be slaughtered in that h*ll hole?
.

“Biden also pushed through legislation”

Delaware is a big bank and credit card state.
In the mid 80’s banks started moving into the state, mainly New Castle county, property went up at what seemed like over night. We put our home up for sale during the boom and got a fantastic price, much more than expected. So I took my money and ran—to North Carolina.

Wonder if anyone from the McCain campaign reviews FreeRepublic? Seems like they would after the Dan RAthER issue. (Just as the Secret Service most likely keeps an eye on DU. If they don’t, they should.)

"to John R. Cochran III, a top executive at the MBNA credit card bank "

How many more money deals has Biden had with these MBNA people?

An interesting exercise for anyone who knows his/her way around Delaware real estate would be to look at comparable sales for similar lots at the time of Biden’s two land transactions (there may be more than two, but for starters).
