In its coverage of John McCain and Sarah Palin in Cedarburg Wi. today, the Associated Press reported:
"More than a thousand people jammed the streets to see McCain and the Alaska governor, his suprise choice for the vice presidential nomination who proved to be the hit of the convention."
Elsewhere, the Wisconsin State Patrol estimated that over 12,000 people were in the "attendance area" at the event and that up to THREE TIMES that number were surrounding the "attendance area."

The MSM is lying about turnout to depress the base and cheer up the Dems. It isn't working!

More than a thousand jammed the streets to see John McCain. The other 11,000 were there for Sarah.

(Sorry, Hillary, Sarah doesn't need all those cracks. She's just going to melt that glass ceiling.)

I have the TV on in the background, and I just heard a news clip, saying 800 people showed up today to hear Obama.
He was walking around with a mic, and having a hard time putting a sentence together — and I am guessing that was the BEST part of his talk — or the media would not have been playing it!
800 people — pitiful. . . . .

I find it incredible with the number of people that use the Internet for their news that the MSM thinks they can keep on lying and get away with it.

If you want news, tune in to FOX. If you want propaganda, tune in to the DNC’s “mainstream news media.”

800 people pitiful. . . . . I remember hearing, late in her primary campaign, that Hillary was giving a morning speech in the parking lot of a Wicke's Lumber (I may have the wrong store name).

800? That can’t be right.
hah!
To: i_dont_chat
Heh. I doubt it was even 800! I wonder if they used the Cindy Sheehan trick of making an empty room seem filled with a big crowd?

I have the TV on in the background, and I just heard a news clip, saying 800 people showed up today to hear Obama. If the media said 800 then it was probably 8. And, those 8 people were probably Secret Service agents.
To: ninenot
If my math is correct, that makes 48,000 total, only they couldn’t all fit into the “attendence area.”
So the media figure represents about 2% of the actual crowd.
This sounds like the way the media used to report the Annual March on Life in Washington.

Half truth? More like 1/36 truth.
To: ninenot
How does more than a thousand equate to more than 12000?
Could we possibly say that more than 10000 showed up?
I don’t know, could we at least be a little honest?
