A new SurveyUSA survey finds Sen. John McCain's GOP convention speech has scored well, at least with Florida voters.
We asked voters who heard the speeches by both McCain and Obama to tell us who would do a better job with certain issues. Here is what they told us:
Who has the better plan for Iraq? McCain
For energy independence? McCain
For Health care? McCain
Who is stronger on the environment? McCain
On education? McCain

Obama needs to worry about WI, NH, MI and maybe PA.M We need to worry about these states too. If nothing else, RATS know how to cheat.

He's managed to take the Repulbican party from a position of having strength in some states in most parts of the country with a solid base in the south to being weak everywhere but the south and the Rocky Mountains and still being vulnerable in Colorado and New Mexico. All by himself?

Cheney kept GWB from being a total footpad for the Democrats. He knew precisely who the enemies oh his country were and treated them as such. I thank God for him.

I expect McCain to win CO and NH and I would think having the wife of a person with Native American heritage might well tip the close balance in NM.
As I have written elsewhere, if it is a close election I see it decided in an arc from PA, OH, MI, WI, MN, IA and MO. The GOP won 3 of those 7 in 2004, OH, IA and MO totalling 38 EVs.

A pickup of a few more states would have made Florida irrelevant in 2000.And if I won the lottery my bills would be irrelevant.

The polls may not show it yet, but I have a good feeling that Washington can be a possible switch over to red. I've been working in our Republican booth at the county fair (North Central WA) and the buzz that Palin has created is amazing. In addition, Dino Rossi is running head to head with the current Gov. and has a great chance to win this time. Here's why I predict WA is a possible win for McCain... Rossi is very popular winning all but 3 or 4 counties in 2004. The Rossi supporters will be out strong for Dino on election day and a majority of those will be for McCain because of Palin. Some voters will come out just to vote for McCain/Palin and I'm sure a strong majority of them will vote for Dino. I see it as a double coat tail effect that could make the state turn red for the Presidency and in the Governor's mansion.

thanks for telling ‘us’ what ‘we’ need.
Appreciate your help. Are you going over to DailyKos to tell ‘them’ what ‘they’ need now?

"if Israel thinks Obama will win, it will attack Iraq before the election" Sure hope Israel doesn't attack Iraq anytime soon b/c our troops are there and IraN is where the nuke action is!!

Iran cannot yet use nuclear weapons, BUT they have a huge army that could over-run our forces in Iraq presently if they decided to make an allout assault. Iran is suicidal so I wouldn’t put such idocy past them ... and it would be devastating to our forces in the Middle East. If Israel is about to pummel Iran’s nuke facilities, we had better beef u[p our naval armada in the area and have resupply already in the works, not just from Kuwait.

I came to a conclusion yesterday, and Mrs. GAB, who is wiser in politics, agrees: Obama has peaked his support, and McCain has not yet. It will be a tight election, but if trends go on as they do now, McCain will win. We must not slack off.

Im sorry, I was typing too fast. That is Iran, not Iraq. To take out nuclear facilities.
To: I still care
I know, just teasing — I don’t think anyone was in doubt as to which country you meant to reference. :^)
p.s. I wish I could do away with my own typos but I am a really fast (but imperfect) typist and sometimes I just can’t stop to proof read before I hit “post” — a personal failing of mine! :^)

The bitter clingers here in PA will go with McCain.
To: GAB-1955
More likely, if history's a guide, McCain will increase his numbers and jump out to a lead over the next several days. Then the race will close again.
Sure, it would be nice if McCain cruised from here on out, but I'm not counting on it.
