"This is not Jefferson Parish's responsibility; it was dumped on us by the State of Louisiana at the last minute," said Bonano. "Obviously people at the state level were making decisions for us without even asking us. We're up to our eyeballs in issues right now trying to get these people out of here."
(SNIP)
"We thought that with my brother being disabled, this would be easier. But it was chaotic. Next time we'll use our own transportation."
Holmes said she and 3,000 other people were housed in a vacant Sam's Club warehouse, where they slept on cots and dined on hot dogs, chicken patties and green beans.

gawd...same cr#p here. ya give someone something and they b#tch about it.
I'm telling ya.
Lay $200,000,000.00 of crack, Colt 45 liquor, gin and juice and some blunts in a trail to Detroit and call it a day.
We would save a couple of BILLION dollars and all the cr#p would move out of New Katrina. the Big Sleazy.
That's all they did when they came here... b#tch about the time they were fed, the hotels they stayed in and the lack of beer.

"....I have a brother and sister in law that fled Algiers IN THEIR OWN VEHICLE, WITH THEIR OWN GASOLINE, AND the intelligence to pre-arrange lodging in Natchez one week before Gustav hit New Orleans. It's called intelligence and endurance and TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS! Evidently "NAGIN'S RADIDERS haven't got the God given sense to pour "P___ out of a boot with simple instructions on the heel! They are however the most charged up complainers and most ungrateful people on the face of this earth! MY OPINION! I know the ALL Barrack Channel (ABC) wont like this but___!...."
Shreveport was not a happy host either.

No one makes them live in a hole below sea level and depend on a govn. “wall” to keep the water out. They can MOVE somewhere else or shut up and take responsibility for their own lives.

At least they weren’t left on a bridge or in the Super dome. These people will complain about any and everything.

when I was in Iowa for the floods .. waterloo, Cedar Rapids amd all dmall neightbborhods along the Cedar River ...the questins wer asked, why is there no looting and no national guard. The answer .. we are to busy sandbagging and trying to save our homes. Grab a shovel if you have a moment.
What a refreshing spirit of community.
Yeah compare that to the chocolate city (not my words) it is what 100 years of entitlement mindset will bring.
Screw em ....they aren’t worth the effort. Can they milk Katrina fo the next 25 years? Funny, we never did hear a word of complaint from the other gulf cities and towns hit as hard.
If it smells like a dead pole cat ... it probably is

A Local Talk show here,OKC, said one evacuee was heard to say, "They had 3 years to get ready for us" Gratitude!!!!!!!
Don't know what his complaint was.

Given this...

maybe they should have stayed away.
If this keeps up, these folks will like commuters.
