The tip of southeastern Louisiana is now within the large "cone-of-error" forecast for Hurricane Ike's landfall.

Current predictions, subject to large fluctuations over the coming days, call for Ike to be in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico by Wednesday morning.

The cone of error displays the wide area where Ike could land five days from now. Currently, the outer limits of the cone stretches from Plaquemines Parish to Florida.

After Gustav the drive-bys were interviewing evacuees at a makeshift shelter. (Hey they had to find somebody who was unhappy, didn't they?) Nothing but whining and complaining about how bad they had it. After all, they had to sleep on cots and walk all the way across the parking lot to use the porta-johns!
They were all saying they were going to stay home next time.
I heard that one woman interviewed was unhappy that staying at the shelter they her food and a place to sleep, but she could not understand why they were not giving her money to stay at the shelter...
