Sarah Palin Is No Tom Eagleton
Pajamas Media ^ | September 6, 2008 | Robert Stacy McCain

Posted on 09/06/2008 7:08:44 AM PDT by AJKauf

Nothing in the attacks that Democrats or the media have made against Palin compares to the scandal that brought down Eagleton — a hidden history of severe mental illness he hadn’t disclosed to McGovern before his selection as running mate. And judging from the way Republicans have rallied to Palin’s defense, it seems highly unlikely she will be bumped from the ticket.

Indeed, the spectacle of a media feeding frenzy over a working mother and her pregnant teenager seems to have produced a backlash that could have an effect quite the opposite of what Palin’s enemies originally imagined...

And why should she be bumped? Just because the DimoRATS are scared to death of her, and want her off? Nice try you putrid, cowardly liberal slime.

Now I will tell you what I REALLY think of the liberal left....

She will not be dropped from the ticket. She will be VP in Jan 2009, and President in Jan 2013.

Libs are scared.

The Eagleton comparison is a product of the fevered minds of the desperate far left. Their fantasies are a product of their wishful thinking. They need Sarah to go away, so they are inventing feces to throw against the wall, hoping something will stick. They are almost desperate enough to pray!

Sarah is emerging as the anti-Eagleton. The kind of VP selection that could make a difference in an election. And the more the Left attacks her, the more that will be evident to voters she was a bold pick. McGovern's 1972 pick was the safe one as was Obama's this year.

Again, the democrats project their own fears for their candidate on to their opponents.

The panic is palpable in the Obama camp...

Is the Eagleton meme even worth rebutting anymore? That's so Wednesday morning.

Why is everyone assuming that McCain won't run in 2012? Do you know something we don't? Do you assume he will be dead?

I've seen several articles about a Hillary vs Palin matchup in 2012 and I don't understand why it was assumed that if Obama wins Hillary won't be able to run until 2016 (meaning Obama is sure to serve 2 terms) but now that we think McCain has a shot he will step aside (one way or another) for a Palin presidencey in 2012

Palin won’t be dumped, but biden sure will be. He’s a HUGE liability.

I felt the greatest thing about her speech Wednesday night was that it was so good that there was no way she could be bumped after that short of a murder conviction. All our enemies have had over a week now, so theres no there there for anything big enough to cause her any trouble. Actually, there could have been a lot more discussion of the other VP nominees skeletons had there been ANY talk of it at all in his first week.

Actually, it seems to me that the media/dRat attempt to bring up the Eagleton situation has some validity. How long will it be before Palin dumps McCain?

The very idea is risible. If there's an Eagleton in the woods anywhere it is Joe Biden the garrulous half-wit lifetime senator.

Why the heck would she be removed from the ticket? Regardless of the outcome of this election, I honestly believe that Sarah Palin will win the 2012 election, should she decide to run.

Of all the desperate attacks, this is the most bizarre to me. I have no doubt that the intellectual that thought this up really overestimated the historical knowledge of most voters.

"Eagleton, yea isn't he the guy that landed on the moon?"

If I’ve learned anything about the left over the years, it’s that the concept of “signal to noise” has been drilled into their heads since indoctrination in j-school. Ergo, this whole Eagleton thing isn’t really about Palin, it’s about Biden.

Some lib claiming to be a member of the MSM got through on Michael Reagan’s show yesterday and swore they would destroy her using this tactic.

Someone at work told me it’s like this every election. They’re an Obama supporter.

‘Nuff said.

Libs are scared, is right. Their "master plan" is now totally screwed up. The first female VP/President was supposed to be a liberal Democrat, not a conservative Republican. This is why they are in such a panic.
