Oprah taking sides?
The queen of talk says it ain't so.
Winfrey reacted strongly Friday to a report posted on the Drudge Report that claimed she and "a couple of her top people are adamantly" against booking newly minted Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on her show.
"The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue," Winfrey said in a statement sent to news organizations in reaction to the DrudgeReport.com posting. "There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."
That said, Winfrey used her show to introduce Barack Obama to America's women voters, and has endorsed and campaigned with the Democratic nominee. She also was very visible at Obama's acceptance speech last week in Denver.
Winfrey's staff reportedly is sharply divided on booking Palin.
"Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on," a source told Drudge. "Oprah's Web site is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama."
Oprah last year blocked an appearance by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, timed to a promotional tour of his autobiography.

Lefty talk shows are already playing their attack ads against Sarah. Did anyone see the John Steward show tonight? The first five minutes of the show was a free attack add the democrats don't have to pay for against Sarah Palin. It was her life history of killing things, shooting a moose, beating baby seals with a hockey stick, clips suggesting her husband is a whale killer, Sarah strangling a polar bear, etc.
Looks like we are going to see the same old crap from Hollywirdo's as we did during the last Bush election.
I remember she had W, Laura on when he was running. She had the other side on as well. This year she's in the tank for Obama (fine by me) and hasn't got the guts to keep herself in check and bring on Sarah Palin until after the election? Give me a break. I would think far more of Oprah if she asked Palin to be on now and had a fair-and-balanced interview while noting the appearance did not indicate an endorsement or flogged Obama in bookends to the show.

Oprah... making money off viewers brains turning to mush (who really needs some billionaire telling you what is a good read?)... anyway, step away from the tv (or change the channel)... it is as good as lighting a candle for one’s soul ;-)
She didn’t piss off enough women by dissing Hillary, so she wants to make a clean sweep of it by pissing off the rest of em. The problem, of course, is not that she’s a “traitor to her own gender.” She’s just picked a candidate based entirely on skin pigmentation and trying to shove him down her viewers’ throats by stiffling the alternatives.
Always keep a minimum of 4 feet away from Michelle Obama because most rattlesnakes are capable of striking at 2/3 their body length.
Given that M'Obama is about 6 feet tall, you would be wise to keep a distance of 4 feet away or greater.
